Re: first online gaming experience
Yet another thread made to make the older OS crowd feel just that....OLD.
For me, it was Doom on the PC. I taught my buddy how to set it up on his PC, and I dialed him up and we'd play 1 on 1.
Also around this time, there were some text based RPG's on a few of the BBS's I belonged to that I would play here and there...never that heavily though. My first online sports experience was one of the FPS: Football Pro games. I was in a league for that game where we actually played our games online. Pretty big headache because the connection was never stable...but a lot of fun, none the less.Comment

Re: first online gaming experience
Mine was Battlefield 1942. Lets just say that that's all I played that summer, there was no other thing like it. I could of played it all day and night, and sometimes I did. Now I just play games on the 360, my computer isn't good enough to play the newer games.Comment

Re: first online gaming experience
Either Hearts or Chess on the PC.
As for console - none. I just don't have the urge to play online with anyone. I'll play Gears or Halo split screen with a buddy of mine, but I don't really wish to do so with other people. I don't know, I am weird I guess (plus, way too many 12 year olds throwing around racial slurs).Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!Comment

hmmm Street Fighter 2 over an emulator (ZSNES I think?) with a friend. Both of us were on dial-up so it didn't work out so great.
After that, Socom 2 I think.Comment

Re: first online gaming experience
So was your post.
Heafty Bump. Well done.
For mine, COD world at war. Hooked me in like crazy. Played something like 19 total days of that game online.Last edited by Chef Matt; 01-21-2012, 08:59 PM.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: first online gaming experience
Holy thread bump, batman!
The first game I ever played online was Tribes 2 back in 2002, I believe. IMO one of the most underrated shooters ever made and one of the best. There's still an online community for it, albeit a small one. Good times...Huskers | Chelsea FC | Minnesota United | OmahaComment
