Sadly,I'm starting to feel the same way. I've contemplated selling my 360 for a couple of months now, this just might seal the deal for me.

With football being my favorite live as well as virtual sport,I just don't see enough of a draw for me to keep the 360 (imo).
I've seen folks say "RB6V,GRAW2 and GOW" are awesome, I will tend to agree with GOW,but I don't like fps,and I've played the first graw,as well as the demo for graw2,and didn't feel it justified a $60 price tag.

In short...I'm sick of all the shooters (be it war or futuristic).
I am glad folks enjoy those types of games, but with myself being mainly a sports gamer(football)....this is a bigger deal (if it happens) then some like to think.

Yeah my love for football gaming has faded. Hopefully 2k8 will bring me back to the gridiron...

But like the other guy said, if EA bought Take Two, I'd personally find the guy who sold 2ksports, and kick him in the balls, with a boot made out of steel....Because I want to show him just how bad, customers feel, when something they love is taken away from them. And thats 2k football....

,yea I know what you mean.
I think things are going to get pretty crazy real soon.
Hopefully,APF will be an awesome game, but like another poster has said, the whole thing is getting out of hand, almost to the point of it not being fun anymore.

Luckily,if it comes to selling my stuff I can still pursue my music hobby, and buy a couple more guitars

LOL, not for me. The only sports games I really care about every year are baseball and soccer. The best baseball game out there isn't even produced by 2K. Factor in that EA made a very decent baseball game before they lost the license, plus the improvements in their FIFA series PLUS the option to play WE/PES, and it's hardly the doomsday scenerio you're describing.

If you do, sell ot on Ebay. You'll get much more money from it than you would if you sold it to those thieves at Gamestop.

Without a doubt. I wouldn't even CONSIDER selling it at any kind of game store.
If it comes down to it,I would probably just put an ad in our local news paper,or check with some friends.

                    Re: Take Two's pending sale

An interesting article on this subject that appeared a month ago over at Gamespot:
Wedbush Morgan Securities' Michael Pachter says Grand Theft Auto IV can only carry publisher's stock so far, speculates that EA could be interested in buying 2K Sports.

                    .
                    .
                    .
Pachter also evaluated the chances of the company being acquired, broken up and sold in pieces, or being taken over by activist investors. While he described all three scenarios as "unlikely," he did suggest that the publisher's currently unprofitable 2K Sports operation might be an acquisition target for its fiercest rival, Electronic Arts. According to Pachter, EA is the most likely buyer for 2K Sports because few others would be willing to go head-to-head with the Madden NFL publisher in the sports genre.

"It is clear to us that Take-Two’s sports business would have tremendous value to EA, as it would give EA a monopoly on football, basketball, baseball, and hockey," Pachter said. "It is arguable that EA would benefit by as much as $1 billion if it were to obtain an exclusive; this does not mean that it is willing to pay $1 billion."

Given the few potential suitors who would be interested in going toe-to-toe with EA in the sports genre, Pachter said EA could pick up the division for roughly $200 million. An EA representative declined to comment on the speculation, while a Take-Two spokesperson had not returned GameSpot's request for comment as of press time.

In fact, he was recently listed by Next-Gen Biz for being one of the key players in the future of gaming.

So, if EA does in fact buy 2K Sports, expect nothing of 2K crossing over to EA. If you need proof, look at what they did with ESPN.

Finally, I don't see Take Two giving up 2K Sports unless there is a large bid put out for them. They have the MLB license, and I think that's still something Take Two wants to work with. 2K Sports hasn't been under Take Two for too long, and given the recent success of NBA 2K7, and that of MLB 2K7, I think they'll keep them on board to explore future profits.

                      Of course, that's all opinion.

Wasn't there a former EA employee here who basically called out Thomas for being an idiot at times?
I think there was a story where Thomas didn't care about gameplay improvements but rather wanted to focus on 'back of the box' additions (see Fluff). So that's the direction the team took. But then their competitor was showing off their new and improved gameplay so Thomas went back to his team asking them why they were working on Fluff components.

I'll try to find it, but I think that was the gist of the story.

We discussed this. It's pretty obvious it makes sense for EA to try to snatch up VC if only to further establish their monopolistic ways. Really EVERYONE should be hoping that it doesn't come to pass. They have the dominant market position and still there next gen games have been disappointments across the board (well, except for NHL07 I think), which is ridiculous. The only other dev out there with any sort of profile would be 989 (Sony) with MLB the Show and their basketball game. I seriously doubt those would be around long if EA gets it's hands on Take Two
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

EA has 1.2 billion in cash on hand. Take 2 is worth around 1.6 billion dollars. There are 46% of TT shares that are on sale. So, EA would spend around $800 million to buy less than half of the company that is more 70% of their existing cash. How would this sale add value to EA. They would only gain GTA and a baseball license and if they wanted the baseball license they could have been the highest bidder. It doesn't make sense. I think shareholders would lose their minds if EA spend so much money for so little in return.
