I say we'll see 3 more downloads, and it's done. They backed themselves in a corner, then promised this 80's version for PS2 only. With GH3 coming in November, I can say we won't see any new songs, only GH1 songs at best. Such a let down.Comment

If this is true, it sucks. Especially with the PS2 Guitar not working too well with the PS3, I guess no 80's edition for me unless they find a way to make the GHIII guitar work with the PS2 versions.Comment

Build up star power, resist the temptation to use it on parts you can play with the multiplier, and then when you hit the solos from hell you "bail" yourself out with the star power and finish the song!
To be honest, I really can't explain it. When I bought the first one on PSone I started on Easy and quit in the middle of the tour as it was easy. I then moved through Medium straight to Hard, and then tried Expert. I struggled mightily early on, but after a while the satisfaction of actually playing EVERY note kept me there.
I have a bit of a musical background (can play piano, sax, and clarinet) so the timing and beats might be a bit easier to pick up.
I will say the great thing about the game is how anyone can pick it up and have fun...at any difficulty. My wife plays on Easy and yet it's a blast to do Co-op, and then when I'm back with my sister we jam on Expert together.
