I have never played GH but my girl said she was addicted to the original awhile ago and it has been tugging at my wallet every time I hit the mall. Do I need to know how to play the guitar? How's the replay value? Is there a complete list of songs? I have the 360 by the way.

You don't need to know how to play guitar to play Guitar Hero; I personally played the original GH for about a year before I began learning to play real guitar, and while I think that the knowledge may help a little bit, it's not necessary.

About replay value, the replay value in this game is how fun it is by itself. There are a bunch of unlockables though.

I finally got this game for ps2 the other day, played through all the songs on medium. Is it just me, or is this game a lot easier than the first one? I remember really struggling with the first one on some songs, I beat all of these on the first try on medium (bark at the moon took me like 10 tries on the first one).

The other thing is, and I know it's just personal tastes, but the song selection blows in my opinion. Loved the first one songs, I knew about all of them. I haven't heard of like 1/3 of the songs on GHII, evidently I don't listen to obscure enough stuff or they don't play them on the radio around here.

I just checked out the additional songs the 360 got, that would explain some things. The 360 got a lot of good songs added that the ps2 didn't. That blows.

In my exp, GH II is twice as hard as the original. I just bought the first one and just coasted through it on hard picking up mostly 5* on my first try. I have only a handful of 5* on hard in #2.

I went to Gamestop and everywhere else, but Gamestop said they were sold out because they were recalled and they don't know when they will coming back. Is this true?

same thing I was told as well,from day one when the lady at target would not sell me one that i could see in case,because of some type of recall?,but I hear the ps2 version now works on ps3...need some verification,but that would solve the issue for me..any one know of this?

Just beat the game on Expert last night (including Freebird on the first try). I'd have to say it was the proudest moment of my life.
