You can purchase just the game seperately on release date. The accessories will be released early next year by themselves.

I pre-ordered Rock Band at EB today and for the Canadians out there, the price on their computer said it was $169.99. Even though I pre-ordered the clerk said he wasn't 100% sure I would get the bundle.

Re: Harmonix's Next Game Revealed...Rock Band

I played this a bit more at Best Buy today and it's slowly growing on me. Right now, I don't really care too much for the drums to play them at the store, it was just a pain. I hope when I have this at home the drums are better to play, I guess I really enjoy playing the guitar more.

Only problem that I have with the new guitar is that darn whammy bar, I just don't like it. I can't remember, but can we use the wireless Les Paul or Xplorer as the main guitar on this one or is the Xplorer only used for bass?

So I just got finished playing ROCK BAND (funny story)

So I swung by Best Buy during lunch to stare at TVs and all other electronic goodness...

And there it was. A Rock Band set up in the XBox section. As I tried to act like an adult and not some 12 year old yelling "SWEET!" and sprinting towards it, two other guys in business suits..probably the same age as me, early 30s/late 20s did the same thing.

As all 3 of us stared at the drums and 2 guitars no one would come out and say it. We all just looked at each other in that way guys do in public, the head nod followed by " 'sup ".

Seeing an opportunity, I gave a bit of a push.

Nonchalantly I said, "You know...I mean...if you guys want to try this out..that will be..you know...cool with me."

To which they both replied (equally nonchalantly) "Yeah, I mean...that would be alright. I guess."

Then we each grabbed an instrument, with each of us trying not to act like a 10 year old at Christmas.

We then proceeded to rock through Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden, In Bloom by Nirvana, and Suffragette City by David Bowie.

Needless to say, the game kicks *** and I will definitely be buying it. Drums are tough but once you get the hang of it, it's a blast.

One other funny side note...As we were rocking through In Bloom, a guy walked by with his wife. The guy stopped and started watching us, with his wife tugging on his arm and saying (in a tone a mother tells a 5 year old) "Come on." To which the guy reluctantly agreed, eyeing our bliss the entire walk away.

Thought some folks would get a kick out of that story.

I have bought all DLC possible for the GH.

With this kind of support, I will be a little more choosy since there is a ton of DLC being released, but I will buy most of it.

$60 worth of DLC for Rock Band/GH has much more value to me than a bug ridden EA Sports game.

I would be happy with DLC for Rock Band/GH and downloadable maps for COD 4/Halo 3 for the rest of my gaming life.

I was thinking the same thing, I'm just going to be selective on choosing these releases. There just seems to be too much crap in some of these releases.

It cracks me up, they gave little support to GH2 on 360 for DLC and it comes to RB their whoring the DLC. LOL!

Do you think the guys who at Harmonix who developed Guitar Hero realized when they created it how filthy stinking rich it would make them?

Guitar Hero has to be one of the biggest video game "phenomenons" of all time. Just about everyone who tries it falls in love with it and spends insane amounts of money on plastic instruments and downloadable content.
