What the hell? I don't want to play through the game on 'Easy' or 'Medium', and there's no way my wife can play through on 'Hard' or 'Expert'. What gives? No mixed difficulty in Co-op like GHII?

EDIT: That's a big *** negative in my books. Way to extend the play time with stupid ish like this.

I wouldn't worry too much Johnny....There's probably going to be a code that unlocks everything, like in the first two games. Entering it every time will be a pain, though.

Fans already salivating for next month's release of the videogame "Guitar Hero III" will be treated to an Interscope CD featuring music from the game and a special code unlocking new or remixed songs from Marilyn Manson, AFI and Flyleaf.

Due Oct. 30, two days after "Guitar Hero III" hits stores, the CD includes in-game songs such as Sonic Youth's "Kool Thing," AFI's "Miss Murder" and Queens Of The Stone Age's "3's & 7's."

Via a code that will come with the disc, Xbox Live users can unlock the bonus playable songs "Carcinogen Crush" from AFI, "Tina" from Flyleaf and a remix of Manson's "Putting Holes in Happiness" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner. The AFI song is expected to appear on an EP of new material in December.

So is there anyway to unlock/play the co-op encore songs if I only have 1 controller? I sure as hell aint going to go buy 2 controllers just to be able to finish career mode. Surely they know the majority of people only have 1 controller.

I think Lou is the Lou Derr, he was in the Charlie Daniels Band.

Perhaps "Lou" will be based on Lou Derr, but the lead designer from Activision said the game features 3 boss battles with 2 being real and the third being a "fictional" guitarist.

Perhaps you can play co-op online with somebody and unlock them but I'm not sure.

I realize that the GH2 guitars don't work on the PS3 when you play the PS2 game, that's why I still have my PS2. But is there any word on if the PS3 guitars will work with the GH and GH2 games when played on the PS3?

I would hope they'd be smart enough to add that functionality, but you never know. Neversoft/Activision seem to be distancing themselves from Harmonix in everyway (witness the slights of 'Rock Band') so they might pretend the first two games never existed...since I imagine sales of the first two PS2 games would still go to Harmonix.

As an aside, I put $20 towards the GHIII bundle for 360 today...going to be an expensive couple weeks when those games drop.

Activision has confirmed GH 1 will be 100% compatible and II and 80's will be partial.

No word yet on RB's guitar on the aforementioned titles.

Well according to that tracklisting a few pages back I would say he's not unless I'm blind.

Would be sweet though, that guy was awesome. I would love to play the solo to The Sleep, but since the GH guitar doesn't take things like bends and whammy harmonics into account, it probably wouldn't be hard enough.
