Uhg I suck at this.

Is there anyway to not be attacked by Raiders at the beginning of the game? I hardly have the ammo or skills to take down 3 attacking raiders.

Switch to Easy or Very Easy until you level up (or keep it that level the whole game). You still get the Achievements, if you're into that, and you get to progress through the game. The only negative is that you earn less XP per kill/hack/etc.

Judge me if you want, but I play to have fun...not continually die and be frustrated.

Hard got frustrating in DC for me. All the Super Mutants were kicking my butt so I leveled down to Normal and it's much more enjoyable. I agree getting killed all the time isn't fun. I still have moments were it's hard, but nothing like the previous level.

There is no achievement for beating the game on a certain level so it won't mess with that.

What are you playing as (tagged skills, SPECIAL, and stuff)?

You'll probably have to use melee in the beginning regardless of your character.

If you want help, do the first quest for the Megaton shop owner. You won't be a one man army, but you'll be sufficiently equipped after that.

It really won't be until about 3/4 through the game that you'll actually be fully stocked to do whatever you want whenever.

What do y'all think the reprucussions of killing everyone in Megaton would be? The sheriff is already dead but I didn't do that. I thought about just going pyscho and stealing everything.

That might be the worst videogaming article I've ever read. It's just abysmal.

1. Dude is a punk. So you hated Fallout 3, but voted it GotY? How can a dude be whipped by a video game? It won't even have sex with you.

2. RPGs have petty sidequests? Bethesda tried to make the characters unique? Inventory management? You talk to people? Those are dude's main complaints?

3. Why would you approach Fallout 3 as a JRPG? That's pure ignorance. It's not an interactive, poorly written book like most JRPGs. You actually have to choose your own stats? Oh the humanity!

It's one thing to not like the game, but these are just silly. I hate unrealistic racing games; they bore the **** out of me. However, instead of complaining about them, I just...don't play them. You'll never see me say "A gorilla riding a go cart? And he slips on a banana peel? Is this a joke!?"

You'll never make everyone happy; no matter what, some people will always complain. There are those who could win $5,000,000 in a lottery and they'd complain because it's not $10,000,000.

I started playing the game before I activated live. So now my save file is on just the default profile and whenever it signs me in the file isn't there. To play my save file I have to sign out of Live.

Is there anyway to transfer my save over so I can be signed in under my GT and play my already going game?

I'm at the beginning as well, since I just got it from Gamefly. Setting off the nuke will obviously kill off people for side quests, if you care about those. I might set the bomb off, but I'm going to finish the quests in the town first.

So what setup do you guys usually walk around with.

For me i usually carry:

* a shotgun
* a chinese assault riffle
* a scoped magnum m
* a sniper rifle
* 10 frag grenades
* 10 frag mines

I rarely have much ammo for the sniper or magnum though.

For armour i'm just using some metal armour i found and a "shady hat" that improves my sneak and looks pretty badass. I usually carry about 50 stimpaks and about 10 rad x and radaway as well as a few stealthboys.

Also a quick question what is the purpose of the laser handguns and rifles? I found one that was worth over 400 caps and it does like 8 damage or something rediculously low like that. Are there laser weapons that do any significant damage because if there is i'm yet to see one?

Moira's still around in Rivet City, so losing Megaton isn't as big of a deal as you make it seem, there's not that much stuff there otherwise...

Their damage goes up with your Energy Weapons skill.

Up: Chinese AR
Down: Terrible Shotgun
Left: Silenced pistol
Right: Wazer Wifle
UL: Victory Rifle
UR: SMG
LL: Scoped .44
LR: Plasma Rifle

And then the two armors that probably everyone goes with after a certain point, but it could be considered a spoiler.

I just picked this game up and I'm still getting my feet wet, but a trend I'm noticing so far is that you find somebody who knows where you need to go, but in order to get the information out of them you have to go do some completely random errand for them. I'm not asking for any spoilers, but I'm curious if this pattern continues throughout the game? It's a really cheap way to make a game longer....but it's still a blast to play so I'm not going to complain about it too much.
