Re: Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

I just played it for a bit. It's fun, but the entire ranking system sucks if you are playing randoms. Everyone in my room was 10 or 11, then me as a 3. I got killed 6 times as I spawned, and another 10 were just one shot kills, as it seems my M16 took 3-5 shots per kill.

It could be a blast with OS'ers, but it still feels a lot like COD3 online to me.

This is in no way or form COD3.

I would use the MP5 for now as you might have better luck with that. Don't remember what the requirement is to unlock the M4 but you hopefully you get it soon.

Also I'm not seeing these spawning problems. Sure they happen but not as many as you describe. And try upgrading your "Perks." More health or more damage.

At this point, I think we must start seriously considering the possibility that you just suck.

COD4, to me, is a lot like COD2 and that's not a bad thing. Infinity Ward is back as they did not do COD3, which I did not care for. I find this game to be nothing like 3.

Have to agree. I got a look at the game and it'll be fun once the full game comes out and you can set up private lobbies.

One thing that ticks me off is when I die I see a different thing on the kill cam then what I was doing.

For example I run into a guy into the hall way and we both go guns blazing. But when I die the replay shows I was just running at him. Doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

I think that is just the way the netcode in the game is set up.

The game doesn't really feel laggy, but once you watch the kill cam and see something different than it was on your screen you notice.

I really hate that. You are right, the game plays smooth (only a few times have I had games with that unplayable lag I remember from the early days of CoD2), but obviously something is not adding up, because alot of the Kill Cam footage is way different than what you see on your end.

It has been happening alot to me lately and it is really ticking me off. I don't mind getting killed, as long as I had a fair chance of avoiding it, but when on my end I see that I am shooting at someone with many rounds and he is not dying and he then shoots me twice and I go down and the Kill Cam shows that in actuality my opponent was shooting me way before I started shooting him, then the kill feels extremely unfair on my end.

Put some good time into it this morning. And I think I finally realized why I wasn't enjoying it and sucked. Once I hit level 4 and added the health bonus, it started to click a little. I was trying to play this game like Rainbow Six, and it's more of a Halo type shooter. Run and gun. Once I started doing the running and firing without real strategy, I started doing much better.

I saw there are strategic games available, I haven't tried it as I always go into team deathmatch.

I had more fun with it this morning than I had since it launched, but I still don't see it as the end all be all shooter. But it's fun.

This game is definitely more Halo than Rainbow Six because of how fast it plays. I played Vegas last night and it felt like my character was crawling across the maps after playing so much COD4. That said, the search and destroy game type definitely caters to a more Vegas pace, since there are no respawns. TDM is pretty much my last choice for game type because there's no strategy and there are a lot more jackholes who play TDM as opposed to the objective game types. If you were trying to play strategically in a TDM match when there is no strategy, I could understand your frustration.

What perks are you using? I've been very successful with the deep impact and extreme conditioning perks. With extreme conditioning, you can cover a lot more ground on the maps and sprint across dangerous places like the creek bed on Overgrown. And the deep impact perk really helps offset the lower weapon damage of the M4.

In one of the matches I played last night, a team was absolutely owning us with scoped Scorpion SMGs. I need to unlock that scope and try that....
