yeah, but single player game length kills game purchases for me. I was pumped about stranglehold, until I found out the single player is shorter than this. Unless the multiplayer is insane, games with 4 hour single player stories are rentals only.

Re: Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Some multiplayer info from this weeks 1UP Yours podcast.
        • Level cap is 55, but once you get there you can elect to go into Prestige mode.
When you do Prestige mode it wipes everything out, it drops you back to level 1, but gives you a unique icon in front of your gamertag. You can go through that 5 times, so you can basically get to level 255. You will lose everything you unlocked when going into Prestige mode.
        • If you unlock every weapon and every add-on to them, you will unlock the golden version of every weapon, which is every weapon is textured in gold.
        • 16 maps and 10 game modes will ship with the game
        • Hardcore mode - Almost 1 bullet will kill. No HUD. No crosshair. No health meter.
        • Old School mode - No classes. Everybody starts with the same weapons, but you can pick up other weapons that are on the map.

Couldn't talk much about single player, but did say once you beat it, you will unlock an Arcade mode. You can play it with lives, scores, and there will be leaderboard tracking for the whole thing. Also, playing on Hardened is very challenging, maybe more so than in the previous games.

Very understandable. Here's to hoping the multiplayer is insane eh?

All looks bueno to moi... cant wait!

            Sean Singletary
"Not wonderment," he said when asked if he was surprising even himself with his hot hand in Virginia's 108-87 victory against Gonzaga on Wednesday night, when he scored a career-best 37 points. "I was just wondering why they didn't play more `D.

Good stuff, I am stoked beyond belief for this game. Was fortunate enough to get the beta and I'm missing it BIG TIME !!

I'm not much of a single player mode type person so a short campaign does not deter me one iota. I know from the beta that the multiplayer is going to be off the chain so I'm giddy with anticipation

Last Stand has been fixed so that only 'bleed out' kills can execute Last Stand. Headshots and grenade blasts are instant kills, so that one can't magically survive a headshot or explosion. I believe the same exists for 'martyr'.

OXM gave this one a '10'. Had nothing bad to say about it, other than it could get REALLY hard on the upper levels. I don't play on 'normal' anymore, so short length won't be a problem.

I wish this damn week would END already so that I can play COD! I'm 'enduring' Halo 3, but would much rather be playing COD. Halo-ish shooters just aren't my thing...

I'm a little bit weary now to buy it now that I know the single-player could be short. I'll wait for a week or two now before making a decision.

Yep, I feel the same way Mike. Single player is just a bonus.

I haven't read much about the game...just played the beta and loved it. But, can the single player campaign be played online with friends kind of like the Halo campaign?

No. If they had done that, it would have been a buy for a lot more people I think.
