I hope this game is succesful enough that we get both WWII and modern shooters from Infinity Ward. That would be great.

Re: Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
modern is great, and WWII is played out... but I want some new era's! How about the civil war? Walk in a line and pray you don't get shot! Or maybe more Western games... I just want some variety in my war/fps games.
Anyone else agree?http://flotn.blogspot.com

Re: Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
The first Halo did two things that were unique and awesome at that time...The dual analog control scheme at the time was as close as you could get to keyboard/mouse feel, and the 'hide and heal' mechanic and the elimination of health packs was also new and groundbreaking. Add great grafx, music, and it being the first big multiplayer shooter on consoles, and it deserved the hype back then. Now, nearly all shooters use the Halo control scheme and auto-healing as standard, and IMO, Halo doesn't have much else to fall back on.
Back on topic, that COD4 video is freakin' insane. Cannot wait.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Game Informer has a big interview up with Grant Collier and some new screens.
Game Informer: How does it feel to escape the confines of World War II, and do you think you’ll ever go back?
Grant Collier: We are huge fans of World War II, but we’re very developer driven here, so we feel that a lot of the guys have been working on World War II for seven years. I think the United States was only in the war for five years. We’ve been researching it and going through it and giving it a lot of time and TLC to the World War II area, but we know the tenets of Call of Duty—which is the immersion, surrounding yourself with a lifelike squad, having that cinematic intensity—none of those things specifically say, “Only available in World War II.” I checked the underwear on them, and it didn’t state that. We just want to see how people take to different theatres. Some people are saying, “Oh my gosh, they’re closing doors,” and we really think we’re opening doors. There’s a lot of gamers out there who just don’t have an affinity with World War II and because of that have never experienced the love that is Call of Duty. We think by doing this shift right now that we’re going to get a lot of people into the game and then they might look back and go, “Hey, I don’t know what I’ve been missing. I’m going to go back and check out these other Call of Duty’s, because if this is what Call of Duty is all about, I’m into it.”
And we’re not saying that we’re not going back to it at all. The door is definitely open—we’re not shutting any doors, we’re just opening them.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

New Perk Video: Double Tap
Double Tap is pretty straight forward: put more rounds down range quicker, because with Double Tap enabled, you'll have an increased rate of fire on any weapon you have, including your pistol.
In the video, we're using a Mini-Uzi which already has a great rate of fire. First we show you what it's like without Double Tap. Then we enable it, and you can easily tell the difference it makes in the middle of a fire fight.
The Double Tap perk is ideal for the Flag Runners, Run and Gunners - i.e. the guys who want to get into battle quickly, and wreak some havoc. It's also perfect for CQB and interior fighting. Keep in mind though, every perk has its pros and cons. If you choose Double Tap, you're going to have to miss out on something else, not to mention how quickly you're going to blow through your ammo if you're a spray-and-pray type of player.
Like always, choose your perks wisely, and tailor them to YOUR play style. In the end, every perk is bad ***; but thanks to the ability to only have three at a time, and balancing, you're going to have to pick the bad *** ones that fit perfectly with how you play. When it comes down to it, you're never going to overpower the enemy simply by having a certain perk; you have to use the ones that work well with your style and skills.

This game just keeps looking better and better.
How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year. Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.Comment
