    IGN rating is really surprising.

    Reader reading is 8.4.

So far I'm really enjoying the game. The web slinging is as fun as always, the graphics are much better, and there aren't so many stupid side quests. I can't justify anything other than giving this game a higher rating that Spiderman 2, seeing as how, in my opinion, Activision improved almost every facet.

To each his own I guess...

        Gamespot gives it a 6.6

Spider-Man 3 isn't anything special, but it's a solid 2D action game that lets you cut loose with Spidey's abilities.

"Despite the fact that Spider-Man 3 is on the Xbox 360 and PS3, the game doesn't look like it's built for this generation of consoles. The city features the most detail, though it also has a few issues with texture popping. Most everything else looks slightly haggard in one way or another. The Spider-Man character model looks great, but all the other people look bug-eyed and mildly deformed. Some of the combat moves look neat, but the animations are jerky and stilted, as if transition animations are missing. You'll also encounter a lot of weird physics glitches as you play, especially during combat. Enemies will get hung up on walls or invisible pieces of the environment, objects don't break properly, and even Spidey sometimes gets stuck in or clips through walls or set pieces. The frame rate doesn't quite hold up, either. Neither version's frame rate is good, exactly, though the PS3 version is a bit chunkier. On the flipside, the PS3 version's character models look a bit smoother and less aliased than the 360's, so it's a matter of give and take."

"In the end, Spider-Man 3 has its moments. Swinging through New York is as fun as it's ever been, and some of the new contextual action sequences are pretty cool. But for everything Spider-Man 3 does well, it does something else poorly. The camera and presentation issues, as well as the clumsy combat, all conspire to drag the experience down significantly. Spider-Man 3 isn't without merit, but unless you're one of those diehard Spider-Man fans that can't get enough of the swinging superhero, there's probably not enough to Spider-Man 3 to make it worth your time."

          Rough rating.

I've spent 2-3 hours with the game and haven't ran across frame rate issues or physics problems. (360)

Returned mine before I opened it. $65 is too much to spend on anything but superb games.

I don't know what to say about this game, in some respects I like it and others it kind of pisses me off with the trial and error crap, its starting to get annoying.

There was this mission where I had to disarm a bomb. I did it, but I have no idea how.

Yeah dude, there are plenty of those as you go through the game. I didn't know how the hell they worked, but after a few tries it's pretty easy to understand. You basically just press whatever button it says to turn the arrows and so forth.

On another note, the movie ends pretty differently from the game, so, the game doesn't really ruin anything.

Well, I got it 5 days before it came out so I had a bit of time.

So far I'm loving the game. It's exactly what it's supposed to be to me. I'm having a blast swinging through NYC and the missions so far have been good.

                          My thoughts as well.

Only frustrating thing I have experienced was fighting the Apocalypse. Took me a couple tries to get that.

I agree with ya. i loved SP2 The Game and played that through at least three times. This game just feels likes a prettier version of SP2. Granted I just bought it today and only played it for an hour so far. Where's the innovation??

It's a good game so far, just some annoyances like replaying a mission over a more than a few times can drive you nuts. When I played the mission with the chandelier, that took me forever.

I hope that the Green Goblin does become DLC for the 360 soon.

I've had a few times where I had to do a certain part of a mission over and over, due to trial and error. The one thing that bugs me the most though is the camera, especially when you climb on the walls or ceiling. It's so easy to get lost doing that. I was swinging through the sewers and decided to wall crawl. The camera flipped out on me, I lost sense of direction and ended going the same way I'd come from. Still, I am having some fun with it. The boss battles (I've only done the gang bosses so far) have nothing on Ultimate Spiderman though.
