Re: MGS4 on the 360?
The PS3 just doesn't appeal to me. I don't want to spend $500+ just to buy a entertainment center and play MGS.
That's just my opinion on my situation. I don't even give a damn about Final Fantasy #### or God of War. I'm sure they are cool games, but I don't feel the need to play them.
The 360 has games that interest me and if MGS could be added to that line-up that would be awesome.
But if it doesn't, I'll live. I want to play MGS4. I don't need to play MGS4.Comment

Meh, my 360 isn't the most reliable but it work for me. It has worked since day one.

Re: MGS4 on the 360?
I guess it would be pretty easy to rack up his post count at a sports gaming site. Watch.
Hey Longhorn,
Madden is awesome. Tom Brady can't carry Peyton's jock. Bill Belichek is a complete d-bag, who lucked into his championship rings. The Yankees suck and Derek Jeter is a sub-par short-stop.Comment

Re: MGS4 on the 360?
Kojima isn't a CEO. Disc space matters in a game like GTA where discs would have to be switched out often. I don't think a single person would mind having to change a disc once in a 20 hour game.Comment

Re: MGS4 on the 360?
I don't know. I mean...changing discs mid-game. It seems so....late 90's. I think the image of that alone would be enough to make a game company not want to do it.Comment

Re: MGS4 on the 360?
MGS 2 on the XBox didn't sell like hotcakes. Silent Hill 4: The Room on Xbox? Underperformed. If Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams hadn't been shipped in that first year, even that game may have been overlooked. The list goes on, Shenmue 2, etc., etc.
Also, the PS2 user base dwarfs all three next-gen owner pools combined, so it isn't as simple to say PS2 owners have (or want) a 360 right now. Or will even buy one in the future, with the Wii thriving and the PS3's complaints being addressed (rumble, online, VOD, games, and probably price).D E S E R V E_V I C T O R YR.I.P. I stand by my opinion that MGS 4 isn't something the Halo/Gears of War contingent will eat up.

Re: MGS4 on the 360?
RE4 to the PS2 is probably a better comparison. By the time MGS4 comes out, the 360 will have a huge margin in sales over the PS3 due to some game about halos or something. Porting games has never been difficult or expensive , and I can't imagine they wouldn't port it over at some point.
As far as ports not being difficult or expensive, I'm sorry, but that's 100% BS. From recent garbage like F.E.A.R. on PS3, to classic goofs like game-killing glitches in Shadow Man (PSX), and abbreviated content (Resident Evil 2, N64), ports can wildly vary in quality and cost. Hence the trend of development being split amongst studios for separate versions of games.
Hell, there was slowdown in parts of the Xbox port of Metal Gear Solid 2 that wasn't present in the PS2 original.D E S E R V E_V I C T O R YR.I.P. Sean Taylor (1983-2007), a True CaneComment

Re: MGS4 on the 360?
Dude you really need to get it a rest. Everything you post is Pro Sony and put down the 360. It's so blatantly fanboyish it's not funny. I'm glad you love your PS3 and I also like the PS3 but all you do is rub people the wrong way with the agenda.Last edited by Skyboxer; 05-18-2007, 10:38 PM.Joshua:

Re: MGS4 on the 360?
I'm not disagreeing about whether it will be ported or not, just that it won't do big numbers on the 360. If it launched day and date with the PS3 version, it would drown beneath Halo 3 & GTA IV. The PS3 has MGS 4 as an AAA tentpole surrounded by mostly unproven "franchises".
