Re: Saboteur
Ok have it installed and codes entered but can't play yet. Daughters in room on PC (thankfully looking the other way) and the opening is a topless dancer....
Yeah....Had to hit center button on controller to pause it and switch off game to TV.
There is an option to turn off nudity evidently but I can't fast forward through opening or hit start to pause it... had to use the center button and game paused so I could switch to TV until daughter goes to bed.
Close call there...

Good thing your daughter didn't see anything. That would be mighty hard to explain!Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Saboteur
Not that I wanted it or didn't want it. I just never figured the first freaking second of game time would be headlight city... lol.
I entered both the knife and Midnight codes. the Midnight(nudity) code also opens a couple others things. It's not just nudity.Joshua:

Re: Saboteur
Ok from my brief play time so far:
Game is pretty slow and less than enjoyable in the beginning.
The beginning, like most titles, takes you through the controls etc.. so it does serve a purpose but it’s probably some of the most boring “tutorial while playing” I’ve ever done.
Once you finally get a weapon the game perks up a bit and it starts getting fun. I’ve completed 2 of the I believe 50 total missions so far.
The Black and White to Color areas when you get resistance “support” is pretty cool.
The climbing around on buildings etc.. hasn’t been an issue yet as some reviews have reported. Is it bad? No but it’s not on the same level as AC games.
The game isn’t going to wow you with visuals either as even the explosions seem “dated” and look bad when comparing it to explosion from COD for example but it is what it is.
The Perk system is automatic so you don’t get to pick a perk but rather each perk has a criteria to unlock it. Once you get it unlocked it automatically is live.
The driving works well and I’m having no problems controlling the cars at all.
I’m playing on hard and will probably play through twice with the second play through being on the hardest level.
Overall the game is fun but don’t go into it with any high expectations of being wowed by visuals or stellar cutting edge gameplay as it seems to be about 2-3 years behind in those aspects.
The 49.99 price tag along with really no other games coming out in the next few weeks is why I bought it and I am having fun and that’s the bottom line for me.
Right now I would agree with most reviewers scores and give it a 7 to a 7.5.
Some dated visuals and controls keep it down a bit but the fun factor is there and it does give a challenge especially at the hardest level.Last edited by Skyboxer; 12-10-2009, 02:02 PM.Joshua:

Re: Saboteur
Thanks for the review. I saw some guy playing the game on justinTV last night and I agree with the B&W to color changeover. That looks pretty neat. Hopefully i'll have some money next week and find a copy to rent.
Sounds like it's pretty much worth the 50 bucks as it's out on a relatively dead spot between Thanksgiving and Xmas.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

So would you suggest picking this up? As a history buff/nerd it looks intriguing but I got annoyed when I saw the Zeppelins.Oklahoma State Cowboys 2011 Big XII Champions, 2012 Fiesta Bowl Champions

Re: Saboteur
It's really nothing more than a GTA game circa WWII.
I enjoy it for what it is...
So if you have the $ (49.99) and you don't see yourself really getting anything soon then it will certainly fill the gap.Joshua:

Re: Saboteur
Well like I said I got it as there were no games on the horizon I was getting I bought it. The game IS fun but it's nothing groundbreaking. If you can look past the not bad but not 2009 graphics and controls, you'll enjoy it.
