Re: Bioshock Post Release discussion (360/PC)

is anyone else experiencing a real shortage of ammo and health packs and eve shots?

i havent really gotten too far into the game, but i am having a serious problem with keeping stocked up on supplies. I have used up money after hacking vending machines and the ammo machines to try to stay afloat. i am the type to be real conservative with ammo usage, and try to use the wrench as much as possible, but even then, i am always dangerously low and that bothers me quite a bit.

granted, i am not too far in (life keeps you from being able to enjoy a worthwhile game when you most want to play), but i couldnt help but notice the this trend.

or it could be i just suck

I think the only ammo I ever ran out of was AP-rounds.

Make use of health stations, as well. A simple hack and then it's only 10 to replenish yourself. Plus, it's fun if you hit a splicer with a wrench in front of one you've hacked, watch them try to use it and it backfires on them.

Did that too. I end up scrounging like a hungry rat looking for food. except in this case i am looking for even a few bullets or scraps of anything.

at this point, in my last save, i have 2 hypo needles, 2 health packs, no ammo in machine gun and 2 bullets in the six shooter. oh yeah, and the wrench

What level you playing on? I had similar issues on hard, but started over on normal and I've found there to be an overabundance of supplies personally.

Try using the tonic that lets you loot bodies twice. You get it in Arcadia I think.

started on hard, then went down to medium; maybe my game is hosed up and still playing on hard?

electricity only. as i said, i have not gotten far at all. just now at the doctor who's throwing molotov cocktails at you; so the problem can very well be i am just not far enough yet into the game. but it just 'feels' like i am constantly running low on all items.

Have never been low on ammo or life or even eve hypos for that matter, then again, we have (me and my son) played through it 2 times and are now on our third on the most difficult setting.

You need to check everything you come across for items and cash. Search everything, I mean everything.

I've not run across the ammo problem, I use all my arsenal, but only my shotty and launcher come out for mobs that deserve the good life.

you'll be dry in the beginning... but as you get a lil further along (after the first level) you'll find lots of health and eve just laying around... i felt the same way at first... i'm playing on hard... almost went back to medium because i thought health and eve were too scarce... but you'll find a lot of them around your first big daddy encounter and onwards

Just give it time...after a while it's not a big issue...sometimes I'll run out of ammo for one weapon but have a decent alternative. Health/Eve, I'm able to keep myself at a safe level (I like at least 5 of each if I can, to be prepared) just slower at the beginning.

This game is pretty **** long. I'm not done yet and I've played past 3am the past 2 nights...I'm just happy the plot hasn't hit that wall that a lot of games do, where they're stellar until 3/4 through and then just get obsurd or stupid.

Easily the best plot in any game I've ever played, and one of the better plots I've heard period. When you finish the game, check this link.

There's just so much to the story, and I guarantee you'll miss at least 1/4 of it playing through your first time. After reading everything in that thread, I have a much greater appreciation for the game.

I put up that same link on another thread on this board. And I too appreciate the game more after reading that thread also, it really helped me figure out a lot of things about the game I didn't quite understand.

This game is absolutely amazing, possibly the best I have played, and I have been a gamer for over 30 years. This is one of the very few games that screams "this is art" as you are playing it. It's that good.

Right now I am at the point where...

You find out that Atlas is in fact Fontaine. I am so glad, because I was worried I was nearing the end of the game when I confronted Ryan. I was pretty sure there was more to it, because when you ride those transporters to the next level, a couple of the location spaces were still blank. Awesome to have it confirmed, though.

I am actually eager to play it again and save all of the little sisters instead of harvesting them.

                                Gonna play some more soon!
