its taking off the top and bottom parts and they are redrawn in the new aspect ratio.( the cropping);then it adjusts to fit the screen ( basically zooming in to fit entire screen) . problem then is the field of vision is off, so it might feel like your eyes are 3 inches in front of your face, which then might cause the nauseous feeling some get when playing these type of games.

Dammit i didnt explain the beginning right. The top and bottom part are cut off. then the image left is zoomed in to fit the entire screen. At that point the HUD entities are drawn on the existing image/view/whatever you want to call contents view on screen.

Re: Bioshock video glitch - only look if you want to know about it
Meh, seems this has happened before if this guy is correct:
"Bungie screwed up the initial release of Halo 2, if anyone recalls. The 720P mode was scaled in considerably and it threw off the HUD.
It's not unheard of for an error of this type to get past Beta and into final production discs.
That said, it did take Bungie quite a few days to (A) acknowledge the issue and (B) upload a patch that fixed it.
So ... hopefully it'll be rectified in due time. Don't see any reason why it wouldn't be."Comment

I'm 2 hours into the game, read this thread, and still don't understand what the issue is...LOL Game plays great to me, haven't had any issues.Comment

Re: Bioshock video glitch - only look if you want to know about it
I got this feeling from King Kong as well...it just seems to be zoomed in too much. To me, that made it scarier though, because all those critters seemed so much closer to you.
If it's the same as the demo, I have zero problem with it.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Originally posted by Kevin LevineHey guys-
Sorry about all the conflict. IG development people (specifically Chris and Rowan who are both on vacation) were trying to take a day off today (we've been working about six months 6-7 days a week). I'm trying to see what everybody's concerns are and consult with the staff.
I know people are frustrated, but we are dealing with internet time here. It wasn't until 7 pm EST that I was able to even talk to anybody in our Australian studio, which is open today (9 AM their time).
I hear you that not everybody was thrilled with the PC launch. And I'm trying to collect information and see what the facts are. PC game development does not function in a matter of seconds or hours, especially when most of the team is on vacation. But I hear you, and we're looking into the issue. I'll only ask you have a bit of understanding as to the time scale that software development issues must occur in.

Same here. I've been very prone to motion sickness with FPS, but this game is giving me no problems. It could help that I'm playing on a big screen TV and sitting 12 feet back, but I'm loving the game with no problems.Comment

I really don't either. Soooo, I'm running it in widescreen now, but's still cropped and we're all missing some of the image?Comment
