Picked this up today. Got rid of Killzone...played that twice maybe. They also gave me the promo for the special power."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Re: Infamous (by Sucker Punch) PS3
I typed up some of the stuff from the Strategy guide about the Powers. For those that don't want to read this stuff in advance, then skip it. I paraphrased and shortened some things. If this is against the TOS then delete please.
Neutral Powers
Thunder Drop – this doesn’t cost any power to use although it’s only 50% effective if you drop from roughly one floor. It’s fully used when dropping from 2+ stories. The second and third upgrades don’t increase the damage – just the blast radius.
<O
Reduce Damage – This is your defense. Level 1 – 10% damage reduction. Levels 2 and 3 are 20% and 30% respectively.
<O
Melee – Cheap to upgrade but only useful for short range combat. You start with 100 damage points and boost it by 50 points with each upgrade. Combos and finishing moves are random and invoked by just pressing the melee button in sequence while fighting.
<O
Drain – This affects how long it takes for you to drain energy to power up. Basic rate is 72 points per second (I think Cole starts with 180 but can be maxed out at 360). Upgrading makes it faster. The pure Karmic upgrade (Hero of Infamous) will actually give you 10 seconds of unlimited Energy when used.
<O
Polarity Wall – This is a line of defense that costs no energy to use and when upgraded, actually turns an opponents’ attack into energy for yourself. Only two upgrades and is unlocked by doing a certain mission (Light in the Tunnel). More important for evil side.
<O
Touches – Pulse Heal is good karma. Bio Leech is bad karma no matter who you use it on. Arc Restraint shows mercy (good karma) but restraining someone and then killing him is big evil karma.
<O
Precision – Complete the Light in the Tunnel Mission and this invokes a slow motion, sniper view allowing you to use your lightning bolt effectively. This can’t be upgraded and it costs a high amount of energy to use.
<O
Lightning Storm – Unlocked by completing the mission Vengeance. No upgrades but massive damage and great for using against large groups of enemies. After launching the attack, you can use the sixaxis controls by tilting your controller to direct the bolt towards the enemies.
<O
Good Powers<O</O
<O
Lightning Bolt – when upgraded it causes more damage AND actually can recharge yourself. Costs 12,000 XP to get third level.
<O
Shockwave – This is short range and doesn’t cause much damage. Upgrades don’t increase the damage either, just the blast radius. One upgrade is considered good enough as that gives you reverse magnetism and the bad guys will float in the air when hit with it making them easy targets.
<O
Overload Burst – Exclusive to the Good side and is upgraded and acquired simply by doing the side missions (each level needs 5 side missions completed). Its basically a very powerful lightning bolt that can be aimed and will chain electricity across conductive surfaces which can flush enemies.
<O
Shock Grenade – Recommended to upgrade when you can. Need to complete the “High Ground” mission to acquire. Lower level upgrades don’t inflict that much more damage but do increase the knockdown time for the opponents. The final level upgrade goes from 600 to 1000 points of damage and weak opponents are automatically restrained.
<O
Megawatt Hammer – This inflicts 400 points of damage regardless of the level upgrade. A versatile weapon that allows you to redirect rockets and almost laser pinpoint your targets. Unlocked by completing “Playing Hero”.
<O
Evil Powers
Lightning Bolt – Can not use it to recharge yourself but the evil bolt will inflict more damage than the good counterpart. Upgrades allow for electrical explosions that can be chained and hurt enemies around it as well. Head shocks with a level 3 upgrade are lethal.
<O
Shockwave – Doesn’t do much damage as a direct weapon but this is different than the good version. When upgraded, can electrify enemies and even cars (3rd level). Items that are electrified can pass that on to other opponents causing more damage. Once fully powered, electrify cars will cause them to explode.
<O
Arc Lightning – Exclusive Power to the Evil side. This is unlocked by doing the side missions (5 missions equals one level). This is a lightning bolt that isn’t that great initially but when upgraded can be used to hit unlimited enemies and even cause them to explode.
<O
Shock Grenade – The evil power requires you to be a lot more accurate to inflict damage. The good version is one big blast. The evil shock grenade is a series of smaller explosions. You need to complete “Higher Ground” for this.
<O
Megawatt Hammer – Similar to the shock grenade, the Evil Megawatt Hammer has a small cluster of mini-Rockets that accompany it toward its target. Each upgrade gets you more mini-rockets. Complete “Playing Hero” for this. Ideal for boss fights and big enemies.

Re: Infamous (by Sucker Punch) PS3
Is that still in the first half of the game?
Sorry. Reading about weapons is cool but I don't want to read about the missions ahead of time and the strategy that goes with it. I like to die on my own.Comment

Here's how to beat the boss:
SpoilerYou just have to keep zapping her while you run around. Eventually she'll fall to the ground with a green cloud around her... run up to her and you'll grab her. You then have to line up the blue ball that appears near your hand with the grey colored on on her body (while repeatedly tapping "X". Once you do this, you'll then have to keep hitting "X" and line that blue ball up again with a grey one away from her body... essentially pulling the plugs out of her skin that are pumping in the tar.Comment

I know it sounds strange that I have the strategy guide but don't want to use it. I got the guide free when I bought the game. They had 25 free ones to give away. Normally I never buy them. Sorry if that was confusing earlier.Comment
