    Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)

Same thing for me...Fallout 3, Farcry 2, Deadspace, SOCOM, NHL 09, NBA 2k9, NCAA 09, Left 4 Dead I have been up to my ears with new titles and have not given Dead space what it deserves as far as time.

Farcry 2 I am in agreement with, It is soooo repetive. I got so tired of killing the same check point guys over and over again that I just have not played it much anymore.

Now NHL 09, Red Alert 3, and Left 4 dead have taken all my time lately. Left 4 dead has taken the most of all but NHL is not far behind.

It is a great looking title and wonderful atmosphere.

One of the first games in a very very long time to actully make me very tense when I am playing it.

I had a buddy watching me play the other night and he kept going "Ohhhhhh crap"....."holy ****!!!!!".....or my favorite "Ohhh my god, get out of there...***n dude, f-ing run". I was killng myself laughing at his reactions.

LOL I know the feeling, I had to ban my wife from being around when I was playing this game. You're already on edge the whole time you're playing the game, waiting for something to happen all the time and then she would make it worse by screaming at everything.

hahaha....that was the trade-off, you had to have your volume loud enough because things kept popping up behind you, but if it was too loud the sounds would creep you out

My wife would pop in from time to time and be like "eww gross" as i'd be walking around a room caked with gore.

I just beat it a 2nd time the other da on Harcore (?) difficulty. Now i'm gonna give it a crack on Impossible mode. I feel my fundamentals are solid enough. It's all about efficient use of the Line Gun and Plasma Cutter ammo.....and putting yourself against a wall (preferably a corner) so that necros can't come up behind you during those quarantine lockdowns.

Dead Space En Route to Wii

During its fiscal third quarter earnings call today, Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello announced a Wii version of last year's horror shooter Dead Space is on the way. No other details were revealed, but IGN has heard it will be an original take on the game that makes full use of the Wii remote.

"We're bringing core intellectual property to the Wii," Riccitiello said. "Wii is the market leader -- they're getting half of our emphasis in terms of title count."

Dead Space was released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC last October and received high praise for its beautiful graphics, creepy atmosphere, and gruesome alien zombie dismemberment. Oh, and zero gravity gameplay. Electronic Arts credits the game as one of its major sales drivers during its fiscal Q3.

borrowed this game from a friend. I played it on easy, and most of the game was easy, but I still died in a few places like the first time I came into contact with the messed up gravity plates in the floor, or the creatures that are on the wall that can decapitate you. even on easy, it took about 9 1/2 hours to beat, so it longer than most games that are similar recently. trying it again on hard. I might give the Impossible difficulty a try late, but I'm going to try and beat the game on hard with only the Plasma Cutter(the first weapon you get)

I heard a lot of things about this game, both good and bad, I didn't really know what to expect in this game, as I didn't really follow it that much, But I was pretty surprised after playing it. the game was pretty good. I'll say its a good rental, I don't know if it has good replayability though. you can use your character through multiple play throughs, but its not open world, so I would imagine it would get repetitive fast.

I finished this game over the weekend and I highly recommend it to anyone that loves survival horror. This is a title I have wanted to play but kept putting it off because something just didn't seem right with the reviews, etc. I now regret waiting this long to finally play this little gem. EA has taken the survival horror genre and done an excellent job with intriguing storyline thrown in. The gameplay is also very good where you have to kill the Necromorphs by taking off their limbs. The whole nav management system is built into your suit so everything is shown on screen as holograms which you can walk around while viewing your menu/nav system. I think in a week I'll start the game again, I'm on a quest to Platinum this one for the PS3.

Dead Space 2 almost in production

Visceral Games' follow-up to Dead Space is "in the later stages of pre-production, ready for production in the next few months, with many of the navigational and combat mechanics in place".

That's according to a job posting from earlier in the month on LinkedIn, which superannuation spotted today and we've not seen mentioned elsewhere.

"We have complete autonomy and creative control over our own decisions," says the advert page, which seeks a "lead combat and controls designer" to join the studio formerly known as EA Redwood Shores.

"This M-rated action/shooter sequel will set new standards for an action-packed story-driven console experience. Our team values are as follows: gameplay comes first, controller feel is everything, culture of creativity, be highly iterative, playtest early and often, learn from failure, work fast and smart, and surround ourselves with the best talent in the world."

It's the second time Dead Space 2 has been outed by LinkedIn, but then EA doesn't make much secret of its intention to persist with the horror series. Silver-haired fox John Riccitiello has mentioned the desire for follow-ups in the past, and the game has already expanded successfully onto Wii.
