    Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)

I rented this without looking at previews or reviews (saw the scores, didn't read them) or anything. Just kinda random,I wanted Blitz II but they only had that on 360 so took this instead.

Would it kill them to come up with something new? It's impressive from a technical stand point but c'mon, this is like Bioshock in space wich was already System Shock 2/Deus Ex underwater and System Shock 2 was already in space.

The first thing there about the tram not working, the tram never works, how about it actually working for once or someone else fixing it for a change. From what I've played so far there's just no suprises or anything really new other than the cool holographic thing. I'll play a bit more later and hope it gets better. Stomping on the dead bodies is kinda fun at least and it seems like they've got a good game engine but it feels like I've done all this before,a lot.

Game can be frustrating at times but the immersion is great. Still only on the 3rd chapter or so. I can tell that this is going to start getting really hard soon.

The game seems to keep you wondering what you should spend your credits on; Ammo, health, new guns, air, etc. You always seem to be in short supply of everything which adds to the sense of urgency when making your way through the game.

I guess it depends what setting you're playing on. Right now I have an overabundance of items, and I can never carry enough. I have to sell and store, and I've got 100k credits piled up because I've only bought the two suits.

I'm going through the game with only the plasma cutter thing you start with.

What difficulty are you playing on? I'm on normal. I guess it helps you that you haven't bought 3 guns past the plasma cutter.

I used the cheats and got a ton of credits.
The intro video (leave it at the title screen for a bit) is pretty awesome. Don't know if it was a previous trailer or not.

Well it got a bit better. Still not really intrested in continuing with it.

I'm doing run through #1 on easy

I generally like to play games for story and gameplay the first time through - so I usually go the easier route and then replay it on hard for a challenge afterward.

Just thought I'd let people know - there's some level 5 suit download on the 360. Maybe people already mentioned it, but it's a long thread... Anyway - you just download it from the LIVE gamestore.

i am thinking of getting this game...but i'm always weary of no multiplayer type games. i understand most those types of games arent suited for multiplayer action...but it seems once you beat the game...it will almost lose its replay value. i mean obviously playing on the different difficulties..but the same story over again...oh well i'll look into some more reviews.

For those that are starting, do not go for the shiny gleam of new weapons. You need to be stacked with ammo, health, and nodes. Upgrade the weapons you have rather than buy as many as you can. Eventually ammo becomes a premium and when your non-upgraded weapons take a couple clips per enemy then your screwed. Stick with the original gun and maybe one other.

Ammo, nodes, and health. Don't buy weapons, learn from my mistake.

(Nodes: You find them on the ground but not nearly enough to make any headway on upgrades, you have to buy them.)

Agreed. I stuck with the Cutter and Pulse Rifle. Buying new suits when they become available isn't a bad idea either.
