Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)
I never finished Dead Rising either because of the controls. they were a bear.
I still have it in my collection though and do plan to probably start over at some point.Comment

Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)
I haven't played the game yet, but I did receive the DVD for review this past week and finally watched it last night. For those that want to know more about this story, the DVD/Blu-ray + the comic books on XBL are a good thing that EA went that route. I am surprised that they expanded this world fairly early on with a full feature film and a set of comic books.Comment

Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)
Just finished the game...it was very fun...reminded me a lot of what RE4 did right. It did get fairly repetitive after awhile, but the boss battles and the super intense gameplay made up for that. Took me about 12 hours and I did a decent amount of treasure hunting. All in all...I give it somewhere around an A-NCAA: Pitt, Arkansas State

NFL: Steelers
NBA: Lakers

Here's a little tip to the devs...I SEE THROUGH MY EYES....NOT OVER MY SHOULDER.
-2 for third person only view(unless I'm missing something)

Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)
Just finished chapter 3 and the only problem I have with this game is when it came out. I have SR2 NBA2k9 NHL09 sitting there getting very little play time. Not to mention FIFA09 and Far Cry 2 still wraped in plastic. Throw in Gears 2 coming out in a couple weeks and my girlfriend is going to kill me.Comment

Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)
I have...and it's a direct correlation to games being developed for the console(IMO basically because a mouse/keyboard combo still blows away a controller as far as movement....ESPECIALLY for viewing your environment and that's why you get the consolitis third person view...so you can see around a little better)....it's that more and more of these games are being developed for view in the third person.

I also don't get the whole mouse/keyboard argument. Always been console fan and much prefer a well implimented controller layout.

COMPLETELY disagree dude... In my opinion, a third person view, when done right (Gears of War, Uncharted, Dead Space), blows away any first person perspective that's been used.

Personal preference I guess.....
But why do you prefer the third person view?
Do you have a camera over your shoulder IRL?
My guess it's so you can see the environment better....and that's where the mouse in the keyboard/mouse setup trumps the controller. MUCH more control in turning around quickly and precisely to see your surroundings without losing perspective as well as for aiming IMO.
But if you're more used to using a controller and prefer...more power to you!

Re: Dead Space (360/PS3)
No...but by playing, you are trying to suspend disbelief somewhat, correct?
The over the shoulder camera kind of destroys the "it's ME in the spaceship" feeling and replaces it with the "that's my CHARACTER in the spaceship" feeling.
