This game looks cool but I think EA should wait and not release on October 14 when there are so many good games coming out. I mean just on that date alone you have SOCOM and Saints row 2. I think they should delay it until December or January.

Re: EA announces Dead Space (360/PS3)

                  Dead Space Updated Preview

Although we've been reporting on the game since it was publicly announced last year, we were really surprised at just how much of the story, gameplay elements and monsters that EA has kept under wraps.
We're staying away from revealing any other details of the plot, but let's just say that the events taking place on board the Ishimura are much more complex and frightening than they initially seem. This is particularly true as Isaac (and the player) start discovering the twisted, mutilated remains of the Ishimura's crew and the creatures that caused this damage.

Some of these elements are revealed in intriguing ways: for instance, players might see messages scrawled in blood on the walls, the last desperate words from mortally wounded crewmembers, or watch the deranged "survivors" in their final moments. For example, you'll come across a woman caressing the limbless and headless torso of her friend, trying to keep his spirits up for a rescue before eventually succumbing to her wounds. Players will also find a number of log files and audio journals that provide additional information on the ship and how things deteriorated as the Necromorphs started taking over more and more of the Ishimura. Isaac will sometimes receive holographic videos as he moves through the ship, warning him of specific hazards or tasks that he'll have to fulfill to proceed through each deck. On top of all of this, Isaac will take journal notes on the objectives that he'll have to perform, which gives a good perspective on what he's thinking as he moves through the ship. However, unlike other games where the action halts each time one of these sequences plays, Dead Space runs them in real time, meaning that you can still be attacked by any creature that comes across your path.
While you'll be able to deposit additional items that you're not using, the stores are also important for three other reasons. First, they allow you to upgrade your engineer's suit, giving you more armor, air capacity and energy to use for your modules, such as your Stasis or Kinesis. Second, any blueprints that you come across in your exploration of the ship will allow you to build new weapons or gear at the stores, which will be important as you proceed deeper into the bowels of the ship. Finally, stores give you the opportunity to purchase a vital piece of equipment known as Power Nodes, which can be used to access locked equipment lockers or doors and gain new gear.
Speaking of scares, the developers really focused well on the subtle kind of scares and jump moments that can freak you out, even when you're expecting the moment. Sure, there were moments where we could just assume that something would be around a corner or be playing dead amongst the scattered bodies on the floor, but it's another thing entirely when monsters drop through the ceiling and right in front of you. The same could be said for seeing the distant shadows of some beast before it vanishes, letting you know that at some point you'll face off against it, but you don't know when it'll be. Frequently, that strike also occurs when you've turned your back, taking out one or two things in front of you, only to have some monster leap at you from the side. After dealing with a number of these swarms, it's hard not to be slightly jumpy at anything you see, pumping a round or two into anything or stomping on a body for good measure.

Adding to the chills is an audio presentation that seems to be particularly unsettling. Whether it's the crawling and clicking of Necromorphs across the metallic floor of the ship, or the eerie cries of the monsters right before they attack, the sound that we've experienced so far is extremely strange and disturbing. Even cooler are the effects that have been included in space; yes, I know that you shouldn't be able to hear anything in a vacuum, but the included effects of your gravity boots magnetizing to a bulkhead or the heartbeat of Isaac as he exerts himself in this environment is an awesome experience. Although we've only had the chance to go through half of the game up to this point, the spooky nature of the title, coupled with the action, makes it one that we can't wait to shoot our way through when it lands on shelves in early October.

Okay, so I just saw where they have different suits if you get the game in the first two weeks for PS3 and XBOX. Does anybody know the specific differences between the two suits?

I was trying to find out what the different "abilities" were supposed to come w/the different suits. I didn't know if this was like a Yoda / Vader on Soul Caliber type of thing where they both have different abilities.
