This game looks pretty incredible. The demo plays well, and the flightstick should add another dimension to the game. 8 vs. 8 online team furballs should be amazing.

Ace Combat games are always top notch. They also have great stories. Ace Combat 5 is still my favorite in the series.

is that another overpriced peripheral that doesn't give you any advantage in the game, like the racing wheel?

I've said all along that if the flight peripheral works with Blazing Angels and Blazing Angels 2, then I'll buy the peripheral, but if it doesn't then I'll just buy the game.

I don't really get the point. The MS wheel actually put you at a disadvantage in forza 2, and I assume this will as well.

For the low, low cost of $149.99, you can purchase Ace Combat 6 with the limited edition flight stick. The controller has all of the same buttons as a regular Xbox 360 controller, so it can be used outside of Ace Combat 6 if you want. But this controller was made for one reason only, and that is to make Ace Combat 6 even cooler. It is the way to play the game. It's worth the extra money, if you have $90 to spare. It's a big investment with so many other games out there this year begging for your money, but after playing with the sticks it's tough to imagine going back to a regular controller.

Closing Comments
Ace Combat 6 isn't a perfect game. A lot about the presentation feels dated, the dialogue is drab, and though the sound effects are done well, the constant beeping that warns of incoming missiles is a bit much. But what Ace Combat 6 does well, it nails. The realistic visual design married with the arcade controls make for a game that anyone can have fun with. This is the closest to the imaginary dream of being in Top Gun that most of us are ever going to get.

I don't think I'll get the flight stick version either. A lot of money and plus I enjoyed the demo with the controller. I don't need to go all out.

If I knew if the flight stick worked for Blazing Angels 2, I'd get that version, but I'll 99.9% sure get the regular version.
