People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Seems like the story mode is nothing less than wows and awesomeness but, what about the gameplay? Does it feel like GTA or a completely different game?
Are there a lot of side missions and things to do like Red Dead Redemption or do you have to stick to the main story most of the time?
I'll probably be getting the game this week or in the weeks to come. My 360 has been collecting dust for the last 4-5 months but, this game has peaked my interest. I'll probably wind up trading it in for Mortal Kombat or something once I'm done with the story mode. Also no hookers suck lol. There weren't any mack daddy pimps in the 40's or whenever this era takes place?
Also not being able to kill people and beat them whenever you want makes sense but, surely you can at least drive up on the side walk and do some damage. Good times.Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
ok, so far im really enjoying the game. the first 3 or 4 cases are pretty much tutorials but i like them. im really getting into the story and the game really makes u focus on what ur doing, whether your asking questions or looking for clues at the crime scene.
cut scenes are well done by the way.
this is what i always wished the PC Law & Order would play like. i love doing detective work.
alright i gotta get back to the game. one more thing though. is it me or does anyone else feel like smoking a cigar when playing this game?
lol
and i dont even smoke. lol
there are 40 street cases(A.K.A. side missions) i believe. Are there a lot of side missions and things to do like Red Dead Redemption or do you have to stick to the main story most of the time?
why would the xbox version get a higher score?Last edited by Rawdeal28; 05-17-2011, 05:42 AM."on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
It's not necessarily reviewers comparing consoles to one another, this is probably just what game reviewers scored the game for whatever console they played it on. In other words, if this game got a 95 for PS3 and 53 for 360, the score isn't necessarily because the 360 version is inferior but because a few idiotic reviewers didn't like the game, which they just so happened to play on 360.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I pre-ordered this game and am picking it up after work. This is precisely the kind of game the wife and I have been looking for to play together. Personally, I wish they had more games of this type.Comment

It basically comes down to publications and websites that are console specific. For instance, GameInformer reviews the game (playing either version) and gives it a score. That score is tallied in metacritics for both versions. However, OPSM or OXM will only play and review their specific console version... so maybe OXM gives the 360 version a 100, and OPSM gives the PS3 version a 90, so the average will be a little lower on the PS3 version. It does seem to even out as more reviews come in, as the majority of reviewers will be multiplat reviewers.
