Re: 2007 Most Satisfying Next-Gen Game Purchase
NCAA'08 (360) - I only buy college football games to hold me over until Madden comes out, and once again NCAA kept me thoroughly entertained during the summer.
Command & Conquer 3 (PC) - Been playing this for 6-months and judging by how much support EA has given this game (constant patches, it's own TV show, map-making tools, mods, and updates) I'm guessing I'll probably be playing this for years to come...My 'Game Of The Year' so far.
Mass Effect (360) - Just gonna go ahead and throw this in here because this game will be owning my soul in a few weeks.

Re: 2007 Most Satisfying Next-Gen Game Purchase
Nice thread
Easy pick - NCAA 08.
I've played this game the most out of all my purchases this year. I had a great first year in my dynasty. The recruiting is hands down the best and deepest ever. After finding the right set of sliders, this game was killer IMHO. I can't wait to start my second year and develop my players.
Close second is NBA 2K8. I haven't played this much, but it is just a great game. Bizcanos' sliders and Kruza's playbooks have me ready to finally start my Association. I'm just waiting for any last minute trades (re: Kobe).
It would suck to start the Association with him still on the Lakers and then have him get traded.Comment

Re: 2007 Most Satisfying Next-Gen Game Purchase
NHL 08 hands down, I own all the other sports games for 360 and this is the best overall imho. Playing with friends is amazing, only game to that truly brings back the old Blades of Steel days... Fair and great gameplay, Graphics unbelievable, Commentary great and what you would expect from Next Gen just a fantastic experience overall. If you don't have it and are a sports game fan trust me, Using the right stick as your actual hockey stick has absolutely revolutionized the hockey genre. You want a twisted wrister, flip it forward quick, you want a slapper pull the bad boy back and let it go... just great.
PS: NCAA08 and CH2k7 are great too but NHL08 is the ticket.
Non sports my vote would go for Rainbow6 Vegas over Gears or Halo and thats simply based on my bias towards realism over fantasy and the fact that its Vegas Baby. Those who cannot hear the music think the dancers mad - Chinese ProverbComment

NHL 08. Dramatic improvements in the gameplay made the game a monster.
It's hard to have a G.O.T.Y. right now though due to all the sick looking games coming out next month. If Kane & Lynch has a single player mission that goes past 10 hours I think that will be the sleeper hit of the season.Comment

Re: 2007 Most Satisfying Next-Gen Game Purchase
Hard to say with Mass Effect and Assassins Creed still due in November.
But, so far, it's a toss up between skate and Bioshock. I'm leaning toward skate, as I can still pop it in and try new lines all over the city. I still find plenty of places to skate I hadn't before, and i've logged some serious time into it.
Bioshock because I bought it on a whim in the TRU buy 2 get 1 free deal, and it wound up being one of the more engrossing single player games i've ever played. Only thing that I disliked was the ending, but aside from that, the game was amazing. So much to do in what seemed like a linear game upon first glance.Comment

Re: 2007 Most Satisfying Next-Gen Game Purchase
Kinda hard doing this now, because I believe Nov 20 will be the greatest day of Next-Gen gaming since it's inception for me with Choops 2K8 and Mass Effect coming out.
But, up until then for me.
Ncaa 08. I haven't played a game more this year.
R6: Vegas. Loved the single player and had countless hours of fun online with the guys here....even if CJ's bail out incendiary grenades were cheap.
Graw 2. I loved the SP so much that as soon as I finished it, I cranked it up to the highest level and played it again. I also loved online, but I think it turned some people off because it wasn't 'run 'n' gun'.
The best is still to come...PSN: JISTIC_OS
