There is no way in heaven or hell that Halo 3 should win it. Its a fun game and all, but its seriously overhyped. It didnt bring anything new to the table at all.

So far I haven't bought much this year, I mean other than Halo 3 I've purchased mostly sports titles. So far I'd give NBA 2k8 my game of the year but I anticipate that changes due to I'll be picking up 3 games this month that I think atleast 2 should surpass easily.

I'm going to guess my game of the year will be Assassins Creed or Mass Effect, for now NBA 2k8 gets the nod from me.

I have to chime in again

Right now it looks like this

360's best game - BioShock
Wii's best game - Super Mario Galaxy
PS3's best game- drakes fortune

Now... that said and being hard to argue...

Bioshock is the best first person adventure almost ever made
Mario Galaxy is one of if not the best platformers ever made
Drakes fortune is the PS3's FIRST claim to glory.


Drakes can't compare to the first two.
bioshock hasn't been in the making as loing as mario galaxy and thus makes galaxy the more hyped game and game that NEEDED to be good and it is an average of 97.5 and climbing at gamerankings states that.

so.........

Over the next few days I will have played the three games that I think will be GOTY for me:

Drakes Fortune
Assassins Creed
Mass Effect

Although I mostly play sports, no way I can justify giving any of them the GOTY award. I might get College Hoops too. I don't want to jinx it, but CHoops might be my Sports Game of the Year.

Uhm, The forge, Theatre mode, new weapons, Items, New vehicles, New Game types, New maps, New Campaign, etc...

Sayin that that Halo 3 brought nothing new is way off.


Hard to do top games for me since it is early. But I can tell you that 2k8 College hoops will probably take it.

As of today, I'd go with Call of Duty 4. It's one of the best games I've ever played. I just wish they had matchmaking more like Halo 3's.

I played the hell out of it for a few weeks, then haven't touched it. A lot of my friends list people quit playing as much as well, so it's all against randoms whenever I get on.

Halo 3 was a fine game, but I can agree with what you said. I've been playing crackdown alot recently, which I got off ebay for $15. Bang for my buck.

I think it comes down to these games:

Halo 3 - It's Halo
Orange Box - One hell of a package
COD 4 - Fantastic MP and probably the BEST EVER single player exp ever
Mass Effect - Based on reviews an engaging RPG with lots to explore
Mario Galaxy - A fresh Mario game
Bioshock - The highest rated game of 07', Lots of 10's
Rock Band - Innovative

I have yet to play Mass Effect or Rock Band but so far my GOY is COD 4.

I think most magazines and websites will pick Bioshock. I have not seen a game get more 10's than this game in recent memory.

Right now for me it's COD 4. I can't tell you the last time I had so much fun playing a game. I think College Hoops will end up being the best sports game for me. At least I am hoping so...

Bioshock for GOTY. This game stands out from the rest as being a new IP with an engaging story and great gameplay.

My vote could change after I play Mass Effect.

If this is adebate. i have to STRONGLY disagree with the Cod4 being the best ever single player exp ever. Far far from it. Ocarina of time RE4 are those kinds of games NOT Cod4
