Re: Ghostbusters....Yea, we're back!
I really think that this game could have lent itself really well to an open world style of gameplay if done right. Imagine taking calls and driving Ecto-1 around to capture ghosts.Comment

I could be playing this game right now had I been intelligent enough to have ordered it from somewhere other than gamestop.com

Now it's total chaos. The site is in ruins, consumers live in fear, children weep, mothers cry, games are lost, orders are delayed, Lance Briggs keeps his car on the road, dogs and cats living together! Total pandemonium!I post the frog

Re: Ghostbusters....Yea, we're back!
Fun so far, obviously nostalgia plays a huge part of this, but still fun. Achievements a plenty, as I have landed four in the first 5 minutes.
The graphics on the 360 are really nice, and the voice acting is top notch I say, top notch. Using proton pack in the hotel is worth the price right there...............easy to contol,, and you can purchase upgrades to make you and your equipment stronger and self-sufficient.
and Baumy...........just wait until the first Vikes-Bears game, then you can talk smack.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

1UP Review - B+
My biggest surprise was how much fun I had with the multplayer offerings. Instead of trying to shoehorn some kind of dull "versus" game, you can play as one of the original four Ghosbusters and blast ghosts cooperatively. Playing through the single-player game is fun, but it doesn't come close to teaming up with a couple of your buddies and cracking a few ethereal heads. In each of the modes, you're given a specific job, like defending and charging some piece of equipment, or taking out a certain number of ghosts in a short time frame, but you'll pretty much just run around blowing a ton of stuff up. There is an actual co-op "campaign," but it just strings together a few of those job-based modes together with no actual story in between.
In the spirit of full disclosure, I must confess that I played the game on "casual" and enjoyed the ride, but feel free to prove your e-manliness by taking on the hardest difficulty level. The combat is good, but I didn't really want to play it where I would most likely die a lot. As a Ghostbusters fan, this game came through by delivering an entertaining experience with plenty of laughs and just the right amount of action.
The Good
- The original cast returns, in both virtual form and through the voices
- Touches on, and expands, the stories of favorite baddies from the movies
- The proton packs remain one of the best fetish objects for tech-geeks
- Slower, deliberate pace allows room for tension and character
- Online play gives the game legs
- The first-person segments spice things up very well
The Bad
- The AI characters can have trouble getting around
- There are some annoying deaths
- Expect some oddly difficult battles in the game
- Pacing can drag at times
The Ugly
- If this game sells well, expect a ton of other '80s classics to be turned into games... and can a Real Genius Wii title be anything but terrible?

Re: Ghostbusters....Yea, we're back!
Wal-mart sold out on the 360,had 3 PS3 copies left. Futureshop had 4 left on the 360 and I dunno about PS3. (You can price match with Amazon for $59.99 there) Blockbuster also sold out on the 360. The guy there said he was suprised at all the people buying it and thought I had the last copy. So if you want it this week you should probably go get it today. Only played the first little tutorial bit so far so won't comment on gameplay but the intro video was great, voice acting and graphics are good. The one gameplay comment I will make is I like the ghost wrangling, kinda like fishing.
Just found out while reading around do not quit while in the firehouse. Apprently upon reloading it picks up at the start of the mission and skips the cut scenes.Last edited by goh; 06-16-2009, 05:28 PM.Comment

Re: Ghostbusters....Yea, we're back!
Gamestop refunded my overnight shipping costs and I should have this game tomorrow by noon.
They are now back on my "cool" list which includes the lady from the Pine Sol commercials, the Menards guy, 80's movies, dickdalewood, midget pornography, and Scottish accents.I post the frog

It's awesome, very fun game, kinda open, kinda not. Graphics are great, and it's simply fun to pick up and play. If you like the movie, it's a buy.Comment
