I didn't realize how much I missed this game. Just like old times. Had a blast. Forgot all the controls, was lost on every map except kill house....but had a blast. I do like the sprint option BTW.

Hoping to get some more good games tonight, as I'm off tomorrow, and we got 9" of snow coming! LET IT SNOW!

I like the sprinting ability as well, especially now that I got my controller working better. This game is awesome with what it brings to the table. I love the strategy in team based games.

I'm off for the next 4 days so I'm stoked to get some more time in with the game. Working midnights and a part time job is torture

Will be online tonight for some RB6:V2 bliss

They'll probably package Retrieval with some of the maps from Vegas 1 and charge $10!

You can keep that 9" on your side of town....where in Chicago do you live? I thought we were getting 3-6", 9" is going to be horrible.

It sounds like everyone is having a blast with Vegas 2 and it feels like the first one which is good.

I played for like 20 minutes last night and was enjoying it more.

I will be around tonight to get some gaming in.

Bingo, and this is a great thing! The original was a great game, and Ubi would be out of their minds to mess with that formula too much. Still, the sprint was a great addition, the host has some more options to tinker with, and the maps are incredible. There were too many lopsided maps in the original version, but I didn't get that feeling on any of the maps last night, and we probably played each map at least twice. Team Leader is an awesome mode, and already has me forgetting about Retrieval (Ok, I'm lying, but it still is a great mode).

Basically, Vegas 2 is everything I wanted it to be. Oh, and I'm not sure about anyone else, but I didn't notice any dips in framerate at all last night.

How is the bullet penetration? I didn't really notice it last night.

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2 discussion

The wife picked this up for me last night. I had never really played Vegas 1, but wanted to give this a try after I fell in love with COD4.

As most have said, the feel of Vegas vs COD is a total 180. Slow and steady wins the course here. You have to advance slowly. Controlling your AI teammates is a bit of a chore, but I guess I will get the hang of it eventually. There's just a lot more thinking going on here as opposed to games like Gears and COD where you're just moving from checkpoint to checkpoint. I like it. Lots of cool gizmos too, like the snake cam. This is all probably old hat for most, but again, I'm basically discovering this for the first time, so I'm pretty excited.

The biggest adjustment for me is cover, and trying to attack while in cover. I'm getting the hang of it slowly. Overall a great game. I didn't notice any framerate problems in the campaign mode and I haven't tried it online yet. I also think I need to turn up the brightness on my TV a bit. Is there a separate in-game control for this?

What do you mean? It tears through flesh.

I've seen certain guns shoot through walls and signs.

Cool, the framerate was my biggest concern and it sounds like no issues at all. I wonder now if IGN had a final beta or earlier build that they reviewed for them to encounter all these framerate issues.

It depends on the gun you use. The sub machine guns suck at penetration but the bigger ones like the rifles do it pretty well.

I sniped Altimus as he was hiding behind a box yesterday with my sniper rifle.

I smoked someone with an assault rifle through a closed door. It was sweet.

Sully I don't remember playing team leader last night? Then again I was so focused on where the hell I was going I might've missed something.

We played 4 or 5 rounds of it at the end. I'm not sure if you bailed by then or not.

I'm so glad they didn't mess with a good thing when it comes to this game. Since the core mechanics of the game are largely the same as the first version, it seems like they concentrated their efforts on map design this time around and it definitely shows. I'm really impressed with the maps so far - none of them feel imbalanced, none of them feel mis-sized, and they're all very different from each other in terms of look and feel.

I'm also really digging that team leader mode. It's an interesting mix of strategy while you protect your leader, while at the same time hunting the other team's leader, while at the same time protecting the extraction point, while at the same time trying to reach the other team's extraction point. Lots to keep track of and lots of ways to play it....should lend itself to a lot of replay value.
