I love the way the cover system works in terms of the stealth. The hold/press mechanic is a wonderfully quick way to get around, and Jensen whips around and from cover very fluidly.

Re: Deus EX 3 Announced
For those wondering what system to get it on: http://www.lensoftruth.com/head2head...tion-analysis/
PS3 has much better load times but the 360 has SSAO,better AA,lighting and textures.
Or you can have a PC get the best of both and wait until it's $25 on Steam in 2 or 3 months.Comment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
I have played slightly the past police station portion of the game(completed both the main mission and side mission there), and my initial impression is the same. This game is fantastic so far, and if the rest of the game is this good it will be one better games I have played this gen. Had to force myself to put this one down, and take a break. Can't remember the last time I have played a game for that long, in one sitting. My Teams

I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
You and I are in about the same point of the game. I feel the same way, this if everything continues like it has started I think it's easily one of the best games on this gen of consoles. I love hacking things but hate that I can't see when I'm exposed to people walking around me.
As far as that particular issue of being seen while hacking, I had it happen once in the police station, but for the most part I tried to make sure I observed their movement patterns before hacking, and than timed my hacking based on that. Either that or I would neutralize the guy or guys in the area before hacking. The stun gun and non lethal takedowns worked pretty well in the police station, when I choose to neutralize them.My Teams

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
Just played the game for a good hour and I haven't even started the first mission yet. I'm loving how it brings back all those elements that made Deus Ex so fun.
I also really like the art direction of the game. The black and gold creates a distinct sci-fi look. Plus, the soundtrack kind of reminds of Tron: Legacy. Very fitting!
Here's what it looks like on my PC. Everything cranked up except for anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering.Attached FilesComment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
I got this for PS3 last night. I am on the Zanders mission only but this is my early impressions.
Positives- Cover System works beautifully
- Enemy AI seems extremely fair and finally makes sneaking feel right in a game.
- Gun play is great, shoot a guy in the head and he goes down instantly
- Differently play options will make this one of the only games I might go through multiple times.
- Hacking is done really cool and is not some tacked on mini game, it feels fleshed out.
- Game is SILKY smooth on the PS3!!! Highly impressed with that.
- Ohhh the Music, Michael McCann I believe is the music composers name. He did a fantastic job here.
- Animations are really smooth
- Conversation paths seem like nice touch.
- Cut scenes are BEAUTIFUL! I am loving the sci fi color scheme!
- It is the Deus Ex we all been waiting for!!
Negatives- Turned the horrible subtitles off right away, covered the cut scenes to much!
- Textures are little lacking on the PS3. It looks great but the textures don't look as sharp as could.
- The climbing I am not a fan of. Maybe I am spoiled from Assassins creed, Brink, etc. I feel gimped trying to get to higher places
- Maybe it will open up more as I get further, I just thought it was more open to the course of actions you can take. First mission feel pretty linear.
- Mouth movement for conversations looks rough
- Control scheme is a bit strange but I am getting used to it.
Overall
I can see why this is getting the fantastic reviews. This looks like it will be a fantastic game and one I will play all the way through. It is a mix of some of my favorites, Metal Gear, Blade runner (Movie), and of course Deus Ex!
Can't wait to get home to play more.Comment
