How come you guys are saving up your whiskey, vodka, wine etc.? It's a permanent boost to health based on their item descriptions. Or am I mistaken and it goes back to 100 when you're damaged?

I feel you. I caved and felt so overwhelmed reading all the stuff/things/options that I just ran back to Gamestop and picked up the strategy guide. LolThe poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
Because I am a stealth based build I don't need the buff in health. I will save it for when those encounters are needed. Because I will be weaker equipment wise, aug wise, and health wise. So on a average mission I find the buff a waste when I am sneaking around 90% of the enemies so far.Comment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
This game is amazing. I'm playing a stealth playthrough, and nothing makes me feel more badass than getting through a level undetected.
I will admit, I was frustrated at the difficulty, until I purchased the 10mm pistol silencer. I was only using the tranquilizer gun, and everytime i'd drop someone with it, someone would find him quickly and wake him up. Now, if I absolutely need to take someone out, I can, all the while maintaining a low profile.
Oh, and hacking is crazy fun. Been having much more success since augmenting my Hacking: Stealth ability.
And I have to admit, as cool as the cloak ability is, I haven't needed it often. Thinking back in some situations, it probably would have made things easier, but as of right now, I hardly use it.Comment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
Where was I supposed to go to get the "Cloaks and Daggers" side-quest. I totally missed it somehow, and have no recollection of anything relating to that quest. Have all the other side-quests done, so I'm figuring I'm SOL on this playthrough.
This game is fantastic though. Easily my GOTY so far.Comment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
So I got to the first bossSpoilerafter seeing all the trouble with people have been having I made sure to get lots of ammo, loaded up on painkillers, etc. I go into the fight and immediately run behind the cover on the sides of the room and notice the smaller room on the side, I run in hoping to use the room for better cover. As I go in and realize the only cover is a crate, I notice a gas cylinder so I grab it to throw at him, I get it thrown but I am pretty sure it blew in mid air. He was stunned in some green fog so I empty an assault rifle clip (40 rounds) into his head area, run past him and... he died. Not exactly sure how that happened, and it's kind of disappointing after the build up, but I'll take it.Comment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
I am really thinking hacking might be well worth the points early on, with level 5 there are a lot of things to hack for experience, and a lot of quality loot to be had. I really don't think the hacking stealth or other hacking buffs are worth the points, I've been hacking everything just fine without.
Some hacking tips I've come to realize:
1. Plan your attack, know where you are heading and the node order you need to hack beforehand.
2. First thing you should do is check the security node (red one), if you can get to it (most times those connections are one way, but not always) you can hack it and unlock everything.
3. You can hack more than one node at once, so if you have two accessible nodes you need to hack you can do both.
4. Save higher numbered nodes for as late as possible, this tends to come up when the storage node(s) are separated from the capture node.
5. You don't have to wait before moving to another node, this can save valuable time when you trip security.
6. Check how many tries you have, if it looks like you are going to get caught you can always back out before the timer reaches zero and try again.
7. It's best to secure a route close to the capture node before going for the storage nodes so if you trip security you have an escape route if you don't have another try and don't have a stop.
I am level 5 with hacking without any of the buffs and I've been hacking everything (even things for which I know the code, for experience) with little real difficulty.
Also, even if you don't need it, walk through air ducts anyway, you'll get experience, it's not much but it adds up.Comment
