Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
I don't completely agree. I feel like a complete badass with my build, but I also feel human. Dual takedown + Cloak = to some sick take downs.
I also rock a modified 10mm pistol which is BEAST. Armor piercing rounds, Laser sight, and Silencer. One shot to the dome puts all bad guys to sleep with no chance to be woken up and I still remain completely silent.
I currently carry assault rifle, 10mm pistol, and tranq rifle. I would like to add crossbow but don't believe it would be good trade off from tranq rifle to cross bow. Mainly cause a tranq shot can land anywhere and put target down. Where a crossbow shot would have to be head accurate I would believe. So if you must make a long shot on a target, I like flexibility of tranq rifle.
Due to the downsides I have been using the tranq rifle for the most part, but the crossbow is fun to use here and there as a change up. Sticking enemies to objects is strangely entertaining to me, even though that causes the arrow to break when retrieved. It really is pretty easy to line up headshots with it, particularly if an enemy is standing still.Last edited by mgoblue678; 08-30-2011, 08:19 PM.My Teams

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
You can still get the exploding ammo a little later in the game. When you go back to Detroit the dealer in the gas station, has the exploding ammo, along with a bunch of other weapon upgrades.
I have read some people saying that there areSpoilerzombie like enemies late in the gameLast edited by mgoblue678; 08-30-2011, 10:10 PM.My Teams

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
Just beat the game today. A+ effort. I disliked a couple things, but it was an absolute blast, and it really felt like I could have played in a completely different style, so i'll likely start a new game on the hardest difficulty. My only issue is, by the end of the game, I had unlocked every stealth augmentation necessary, so not only did I have those, but I had enough Praxis left over to max out dermal armor, the typhoon, and pretty much any other aug that didn't fit a stealth playthrough. I wish it would have either cut off the amount of aug's you can get, or slow the leveling up process somehow.
Ending spoilers ahead:
SpoilerMy only other gripe was the ending. The whole zombie (well, not REALLY zombie) thing after Darrow takes over the biochips didn't really fit with the rest of the game. It may have been possible to sneak by all of them, but if you alerted any of them, the game turned into a balls to the wall shooter. I went the whole game using the silenced 10mm pistol until the last level, and I wound up having to use the shotgun, heavy rifle, and plasma rifle to finish the game. I wanted to save use of those weapons for a more badass playthrough. The ending itself was good with the choices you get to make, but the inclusion of mind controlled zombies just felt off to me. I went with Darrow's broadcast to end the game, which felt like a good conclusion to a good guy playthrough.Comment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
Reviewers complained about lack of ammo? I don't think I've fired more than 2 or 3 shots outside of the 1st boss battle. I understand you have the option to treat this game as a shooter, but doing so means missing out on one hell of a stealth experience.

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
I think I am getting close to the end. What a game. Just crazy that it came out with this much polish for a first time IP (this generation). I can only assume they are going to keep this going.
Anyone know how to check how many hours you have logged in the game? It doesn't seem to have that information on the save game data.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment

Re: Deus EX 3 Discussion
Ending spoilers
SpoilerI was really let down by the ending, not shocking since I was let down by the ending of the first game. First the final battle was a bit easy, nothing but a couple of turrets and a couple bots, rather tame compared to the other three boss fights. Then the multiple endings boiled down to choosing a button to push? That's pretty lame, could have made it a bit more branching at least. Lastly the actual endings, a bunch of stock footage clips with a rather pretentious nondescript soliloquy? Meh. Afterall that awesome, it's just really disappointing to see the game limp over the finish line like that.
Also, it would have been nice to have some form of new game plus, letting you keep equipment (praxis is kind of moot considering by the end I had unlocked everything but the one that steadied your aim while moving, hacking fortify and hacking analyze, but it would have been fun toplay through fully powered from the start). It is just a little sad to go through the game, get some really neat guns but have no time to really use them and especially upgrade them. There were almost no upgrades for the plasma rifle so what's the point of letting it be upgradeable?Comment
