So now imagine that 2k sports had the NFL license and just produced NFL 2k8 for the Xbox 360, you salivate as you pop it in to realize that there were no penalties called and that you couldn't throw an INT if your life depended on it. The AI simply would not go for the ball. You adjust the sliders only to find out they have no effect. This best sums up what happened to me in college hoops. Things that were there on the PS2 version 2 years ago have been broken and stripped away on the 360 version of 2K8....ANd don't even get me started on the heaping pile of donkey dung that is the NCAA Football franchise. The games have regressed.

Re: Ouch 2K Sports....
if 2k sports goes, then i am pretty much done with sports gaming. The only sports game i liked that wasnt 2k sports recently was Fifa 08.
ITs hard going up against anything that is EA. They have so much money they just force their name into your brain. Its only bad for the customers. EA loves it, but for the customers its nothing but bad.Comment

Re: Ouch 2K Sports....
I couldn't find my copy of 2K5, so I ran out and picked it up for $2 at Gamestop.
And I have to apologize to you. I'm only a couple drives in and the game holds up amazingly well. I'm finding myself a little dumbfounded by all that I forgot about the title; it really did take presentation several levels beyond what had come before and after it.
Still, I don't think what games are doing now is chopped liver (specifically the 2K games). But you're definitely right regarding 2K5. To get back on topic, I'd likely give up sports gaming if 2K goes by the wayside/isn't recognized by consumers for what they bring to the table. Unfortunately hype sells, even to people that should know better.
Regarding what 2K brings to the table, I'd say NBA 2K7 caught everyone's attention and placed 2K in a nice spot (as far as the whole next-gen thing goes). I don't know for certain that NBA 2K8 built on that. I really haven't played it enough to decide. Even still, didn't NBA Live 07 still outsell NBA 2K7 last year? That right there is a prime example of how powerful the EA brand is.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment
