Re: Street Fighter IV (360/PS3/PC)
Focus attack/Super Cancel vid is on the way!
The_Kid:Possibly, but I haven't worked too much with negative edge. I learned to execute combos without it, and haven't learned which combos have it, and which ones don't, if at all. I heard of the term before, but this was long after I figured out a tried and true way of doing complex combos.Comment

Re: First Street Fighter IV Screen
I'm split, honestly. I still miss Yun as a character, but Rufus has gameplay that is similar, but also excellent in different ways. Fei Long went a long way towards the healing process. Vid is almost up.Comment

It has been interesting going back through the thread and reading the skeptic comments about it. Even you had some Born.Last edited by Cyros; 02-23-2009, 12:26 AM.Comment

Re: First Street Fighter IV Screen
And that fat dude looks horrible. Honda, Zangief, Dhalsim, this new fat dude, the mexican, Blanka....where are the martial artists?? I hope there are a LOT of characters in this game, and they just decided to announce the wack ones first. Right now they look like they're going in a very silly direction.Comment

Re: Street Fighter IV (360/PS3/PC)
Well my heart is broken. It looks like those four stupid characters are it: SNK character, fat dude, Mexican and the MMA character who just looks like an extra from a bad Van Damme movie, rather than anything resembling any of the cool people from MMA. I don't know why Capcom avoided all of the characters that actually look and play like martial artists, but it looks like I'll just be using Ken and Chun Li this time around.
Hopefully Soul Caliber 4 is great, and I can forget about this polygonal pimple on the *** of Street Fighter's legacy.Comment

Re: Street Fighter IV (360/PS3/PC)
No more vids for you, Cyros!
To be fair, my (hoped)prediction came true. They added a whole lot of characters that fit what I was hoping for. It's really the presence of Fei, Rose and Gouken that makes it easy to take Rufus and El Fuerte. Now the goofy characters are variety. I was afraid it was going to be championship edition plus the four new guys. Not only would that have been a sausage fest, but it would have been adisproportionate ratio of martial artists to goofs.
I won't completely backpedal though. I severely underestimated how much I'd like seeing people like Guile, and also underestimated how good the redesigned versions of people like Zangief and Honda look. I actually enjoy seeing them in the game. Bravo to Capcom.
Vid should be done any second now.Comment

Re: Street Fighter IV (360/PS3/PC)
You should be able to figure out super cancels from doing the trials. Cammy has an easy one both the sprial arrow and cannon spike can be cancled into the super or ultra. To correct a previous statment about her,her normal spiral arrow actually doesn't go under fireballs,I thought it did or at least it used to but now only her EX does but her normal spin knuckle goes right through them so she's still good anti-fireball spammer.Comment

Re: Street Fighter IV (360/PS3/PC)
As for those wanting to know about the Fight Pads and Fight Sticks.
The Fight Sticks are pretty self explanatory to why they are as popular as they are. It's just like being at an arcade. The motions feel easier to do.
As for the Fight Pads. On the PS2 and 360, the d-pads are pretty stiff. You'll tear your thumb up quickly. The Pads have a big area for your thumb, but also have a nice space around them - a "floating d-pad" as come call them. The d-Pad is looser and doesn't feel stiff and rigid. It makes pulling off moves a lot easier. When you don't execute them it's more user error instead of controller error.
The Pads are also 6 button layouts like the Aracdes, but also like the Genesis 6 Button and Saturn controlers. It makes things easier.
It really gives you more control and confidence with these Sticks and Pads.BeyondMediaOnline.comComment
