Normal trials complete. Now I just need to keep dropping that 43 hit combo on Rufus' fat useless *** until I get Sunny Daze and I'll be done!

ooo I think I can get 110,crappy 360 controller. That's what it added up to broken up into 3 but I'm not sure the counter would actually go that high. New goal discovered! Frickin' eh! 91 until I messed up due to the controller again...close and it'll go over 110 by the looks of it if it doesn't stop working by then. Scaling damage eventually.

BAH! the combo meter only goes up to 99! *Shakes fist at Capcom*

Meeeehhh I broke down and got the Ryu fightpad at BestBuy today. I did ask first if they had the TE stick. Just to cover my bases. Dude said no, so I got the pad. Anything is better than the 360 controller for this game.

I don't think Mo has what it takes to dethrone the Grandmaster.

I think after a long hiatus, I'm going to get back on the Street Fighter grind. Going to have to work off the rust, but definitely have to add something other than Zangief to my characters. I'm thinking maybe Balrog and Rufus.

Born, you wanna show me how to roll with the big man?

He certainly whipped the tar out of me today, this is definitely not a game you can put down for a while and try to come back to and play a high-level person, it's just ugly.....

The Mexican cook's jump attack and Abel's roll/punch/throw can't be blocked. How do you defend against those moves?

Played Mo for the first time tonight, about 30 matches or so. And uh .. painfully obvious that we're not on the same level. I think I won only 9 times. Hurray!

Sorry that I was pretty much a one trick pony and only used Gief ... as you could tell Mo, I'm no good with anyone else! I'm trying to learn to use Balrog also, so it would've been awesome had I had a way to record those matches and study the way you use him. Oh well .. it's just going to take a few more beatings to learn him!

Ha, GG's thai, your Gief is pretty solid bro. If I had to give you any tips I would say that I think you need to mix it up better when you decide to cross up. There were times where you would cross up and I'd block the hit and you go into spamjabs or Lariat..every time. You should learn his bread and butter after the crossup and some tick throw setups.

Gief has one of the hardest mix-up games to deal with(damage wise) because if you guess wrong you can take anywhere from 20%-60% damage. You started to use some command throws after a few rounds but that was the main thing I noticed. Also, poke more! Rog's dash punches get stuffed by normals.

Good advice man. Yeah, I know that my Gief is pretty basic right now. Trying to learn as much as I can with him, but feel like I've kind of hit a plateau. Trying to get past that right now, but it's tough. Thanks for the tips. I'll be trying my best to work on those. Hope to be more competitive next time!

They most definitely can be blocked/avoided. Are you sure you're not being crossed up? And what "jump attack" specifically are you referring to?

6 months later and it was still worth $30 in trade-in.

Damn this thread hit a brick wall and died. Anybody still playing?

                            Number of Fights: 4502
                            Wins: 2812

No doubt my win % would be above 75% if I wasn't such a scrub when I first started playing.

I haven't played since the last time we fought. Not looking good for more play time in the near future either. I only have time for one online game at a time, and the 2k league is all I've really been able to hook up to Live for. My editor just told me what my next 6 issues will be like after this project, and it looks like my gaming time is taking a nose dive, which is saying something considering I'm only getting in a couple hours a week.

I'll set aside time for Live and 2k10, but that's about it.

I started playing a bit more on the PC ever since I built my new one. Still a bit erratic though, but yeah, still playing.
