If you are in the First Access Club, Gearbox is requesting that you reconfirm your platform choice for the Duke Nukem Forever demo by May 15. One would gather from this that the release of the demo is imminent.

The game's achievement list has apparently leaked, but I'm not linking it or even looking at it because it apparently contains hints to significant spoilers.

I work with a guy who gets to go out to Gearbox, and play test their games. I think he went out there Thursday or Friday. He assumed it was for Duke Nukem.

So everyone else on the 10th?
Except XBL Silver,that'd be the 17th. After the game is out.
The people that already bought it get it early.

Maybe I'm confused on the point of demos.
I thought it was to sell the game to as many people as possible on launch day.
They don't put them out soon enough for a large percentage of 360 users to get it until after reviews/the game is out and give it to the people that are already sold on it before others.

That's often a sign a game is a stinker (recent nba live's for example) so I'm hoping that's not the case here.

Obviously if people have pre-ordered / buying it first day etc like many people will do because it's a Duke Nukem game that locks in those sales before people can read horrible reviews and impressions and swap their preorder to something else.

Has me concerned that after the mammoth wait this game is going to blow. I certainly hope not.

Demo is up as of today, June 3rd, for those that pre-ordered or bought Borderlands GOTY and received the certificate. I am downloading now and will give impressions later.

BTW....I am able to get the demo because I bought Borderlands GOTY. Not sure if I want this game or not. Demo will decide that.

Just played the demo and was very disappointed. Duke 3D was the first shooter that I played, and I was absolutely pumped to get my hands on this game. It's not a terrible game, but it's just very plain.

The fact that you can only carry 2 weapons is the biggest let-down. Most of the fun in Duke 3D was carrying 10 weapons, then picking which one to cause carnage!

It was just a bland FPS - hopefully the full game is better!

I played through the demo and was very underwhelmed. Seems very dated, I suppose a reason for that could be that it's been in development for 12 years. Graphics are bland and the game play was not something that "wowed" me at all.

Probably going to hold off on this one, maybe check out other people's impressions and reviews but as of now this game is a no buy.

I agree as well. It was just an avg twitch shooter for me. I think it would be hard for them to live up to the hype...but the 2 weapon deal is a surprising decision. Also...I think since it's been 12 years I don't give much of a hoot about Duke or what happens to him.

Gonna be a big disappointment if this game is a disaster. I rarely get excited for video games and I was pumped for this one.
