So can anyone confirm how bad the game is? Its seams that nobody likes it in any way shape or form.

I'm enjoying it.

Granted, it's certainly not the best game ever, and it is a bit of a relic of a previous era of shooters, but I'm having fun with it.

I will say it can be pretty tough at times. The melee attacks of the Pig Cops are pretty strong, in particular, and they can beat you up pretty fast if you aren't on your toes.

It's a sentimental favorite of mine, sure. Duke Nukem 3D is the main reason I chose to pursue video games as a career in the first place. I spent a good eight years with that game, playing it, modding it, building levels for it, etc.

My opinion also should be taken with a grain of salt on the grounds that the only shooters I've really played over the past decade are Duke3D, TimeSplitters, Halo and Halo 2, Doom 3, the Portal games, and Modern Warfare 2. I'm far less aware of what the modern baseline is for a shooter when it comes to what I should expect.

All that said, as long as I'm having fun with it, I'm not sure how much anyone else's opinion matters.

The demo doesn't really do the game justice, IMO, moreso because I thought the demo was kinda lacking moreso than the game being the pinnacle of greatness. Granted, it's not the game of the year, but I still am enjoying it.

I wish I actually had more time to play it though; I've been super-busy with work recently.
