It used to not be like that. When D3 first came out the ramp up in difficulty was much faster

Ok gotcha! I need to do some reading about the rest of the game beyond the story because I only ever play games to complete the story. I definitely see the difference between Normal and Expert. I’ve hardly gone up at all since moving to Normal. Lol

      Diablo 3

So after reading the Diablo 3 Wikia about Adventure Mode, Bounties and Nephalem Rifts I understand WHAT it is about. Now my last question is, what do you do with all the loot and gear you grind for in adventure mode? What is the point of that save for mindless fun through monster thrashing and looting?

So therein lies the primary point of a game like this. D3 is a game about the grind. Once you beat the story you have to decide if you only care about the story or if you want to try and push your character to the limits in every increasing difficulty. To do that you need to compete bounties which unlock crafting recipes for the forge/jeweler and crafting materials. Then there are the Nephelem Rifts which are dungeons that let you acquire keys that open portals to Greater Rifts. The GR`s are what people play for as the end game. They are timed dungeons that when you beat them it unlocks a higher level GR. There are also leaderboards tied to these GRs for people to try and win compete for best time.

Personally I don't care about the leaderboards, but even still it's fun crafting that new set of equipment that let's you just feel really powerful. It's an endless cycle that honestly is more fun than it probably sounds, but it also has diminishing returns. I have a season 11 wizard that I have really enjoyed playing through around paragon lvl 600 and around GR77. If you aren't playing for leaderboards then you essentially play until you get burned out.

          Awesome!

That’s kinda what I thought the point of playing post story was and typically it’s not something I’m into. But, I am going to give that a try. My initial thought was to play through the story with various classes. My first play through is with a Crusader.

And thanks to ALL who took the time to answer one newbie’s questions on a game that you guys have been playing for several years! It is much appreciated!

Yep, I got the full set from the season reward, and now and trying to get past the Set dungeon so I can keep leveling up in the Season challenges. It is not an easy set dungeon at all.

Yuppers. My group and I logged off having broke into the 3 player leaderboards for the first time after finishing a level 96 grift.

Just unlocked the stash tab for this season too, it's nice getting the 2 minute rift conquest in a public group (while also getting a goblin pack and ~22 legendaries)

How do I get the ultimate evil edition on my laptop? I’m current downloading the starter edition but don’t see one on battle specifically called “ultimate evil edition”

Doesn't exist for PC, you just need to buy the expansion and necromancer pack.

                      Ultimate Edition was console branding.

Although the game seems to be running fine to me, I’m interested in upgrading some components in my laptop if possible. It’s a Toshiba touchscreen that’s pretty thin. Bought it last year from Best Buy to finish my last semester in grad school.

This game dead? Impossible to match up with people on Xbox for season play.

You would think they would fix that before launching another season. Guess I’m done too.
