Re: Diablo 3
Not as far into the game as most of you but I am really liking my Witch Doctor. I just killed the Skeleton King before logging off last night. Look forward to some online games over the weekendActually...believe it or not from my physique... I'm a light eater - Clay T. ShaverComment

Re: Diablo 3
Here's a tip from a fellow Barb... make sure you have ground stomp. It's so clutch to stun a mob thats surrounded you, and the stun also works on some bosses and champions too.
It's funny because it's one of the first skills that unlock yet it's the one I use and depend on the most.
Love it!Joshua:

Re: Diablo 3
Sure enough, I suffered my first death not long into Act II....got careless with some random demons and my potion didn't cool down in time to save me
Enemies definitely took a big jump in difficulty - really exposing my DH's weakness. I have quite the glass cannon character - great for dealing damage from a distance but can't take hits well. Those discipline moves, especially Evasive Fire and Vault (ESPECIALLY vault if I get surrounded), are going to be absolutely essential for me. I also pretty much have to use the Templar for a follower to keep enemies off me while I blast them.Comment

Fist of thunder with teleport is one of my favorite skills in the game, and it's one of the first ones you get. Love that about this game.Comment

I've got my laptop here and itching to play. Boss is out this afternoon so maybe.....
I'm now so so happy I spent the money getting a good gaming laptop. Love Diablo so much and even more when I played co-op with the OS peeps.Comment

Re: Diablo 3
Act II is a definite step up on the difficulty meter from Act I on normal. I'm struggling as a DH, got a good hungering arrow, chakram, and caltrops combo going, but once I get surrounded, I'm done really especially if I'm swarmed by enemies.Comment

Re: Diablo 3
FINALLY got to Act II. Blizzard usually makes really good FMVs, but the FMV to end Act I was really nice to look at.
This game is a black-hole. Once you're in, no one will find you - except for your demon slaying buddies, of course.Comment

Re: Diablo 3
Hmm...This sounds like it's gonna be tough in act 2 for me too as a DH. I'm going to start reading up on levelling builds in normal. I saw this one:

Yeah that's similar to mine although for my third skill I have smoke screen. This is my latest build too, and I've been having less difficulty in ACT II as you get some real nice slaying combos when you spam chakrams, they are good for getting some space, plus when you get the immobilize rune for caltrops, it gets easier. That's what I love about this game, once you get in a nice little zone and think you are unbeatable, the next quest you get dominated by a new character type or a swarm of enemies that really tests your skills.Comment

Re: Diablo 3
Right now at L19 I'm using:
Primary: Entangling Shot, Shock Collar
Secondary: Chakram, Twin Chakrams
Caltrops, Tortuous Ground
Vault, Action Shot
Evasive Fire
Strafe
Passive: Steady Aim
It's all built around keeping my distance. Evasive Fire is actually my most used attack as it has no cooldown and only expends discipline when the backflip happens. If I start getting in trouble or am facing tougher (or lots of) foes, the caltrops and Chakrams come into play. And as I mentioned before, Vault is my escape if I'm truly cornered.
The glass-cannon-ness comes from the fact that I have almost all magic equipment to increase dexterity (DH primary attribute) which increases the damage a DH does. The armor is weak for act II right now, though, and I have to be very careful not to get hit much. I do have a few pieces that increase Vitality (Life), but not many.
I'll feel better about maintaining a build like this as soon as I can find some "___ of the Hawk" equipment that's more suited to my level armor-wise. But right now it's pretty fun moving all around and trying to avoid being hit at all.Comment
