I want to wait and see what the setlist is before I consider making a decision on this game.

Re: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
For me it's not about it being a rip-off, it's just about it being completely unnecessary. Like I said, I'm a fan of Aerosmith, but I couldn't name more than 12 or so songs I give a crap about, not to mention you don't have the freedom of not having to turn of the game and switch discs like DLC content. IMO, this should have just been an expansion that attaches to Guitar Hero 3. But truthfully, I kind of got tired of Guitar Hero anyways, Neversoft somehow made it less fun.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
Sorry if this has been discussed before but I just found out tonight that this game won't just feature Aerosmith songs. I was chatting with a Gamestop manager about how eventhough Aerosmith is a great band, even they don't have 30 or so truly quality songs. He pointed me to the ad board in the store that actually says something along the lines of "featuring Aerosmith and some of their favorite bands."
I hadn't see that mentioned before.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
I think the story that you play through in this game sounds cool. You start as Aerosmith in high school and progress through the band's career to the Super Bowl. I think that's a pretty neat concept. I guess if you aren't an Aerosmith fan it might not seem like much to you, but the game does seem to be more of a unique game than the 80's edition was.

Re: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
The game isn't all Aerosmith. There are also songs played that influenced Aerosmith in their early days.
I'll pay full price for it, no problem. I'd much rather play Aerosmith songs than some Muse song where I'm playing some lame synthesizer sounds. The greatest team in the history of sports.

Re: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
Of course they do. They don't want to shoot their wad 3 months early, though. The only reason it was announced this early was to set off preordering. Notice how it has been in the Best Buy ad the last 2-3 weeks. They will start releasing the track list once they officially begin their usual marketing blitz.Comment

Re: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
Joe Perry said 30 to 40 songs, I don't know how many Aerosmith songs are in there, but I easily could put together a list of 30 Aerosmith songs to be on this game. The only problem is some of these songs are more "Rock Band" songs I guess because the guitar part might not be too technical, who knows. But if I had to list a 30 song set throughout the career of Aerosmith without taking in consideration of guitar parts for the game, it'd look something like this:
1. Dream On
2. Same Old Song and Dance
3. Train Kept A-Rollin'
4. Sweet Emotion
5. Walk This Way
6. You See Me Crying
7. Last Child
8. Home Tonight
9. Back in the Saddle
10. Draw the Line
11. Come Together
12. Let The Music Do The Talking
13. Dude (Looks Like a Lady)
14. Angel
15. Rag Doll
16. Love in an Elevator
17. Janie's Got a Gun
18. What it Takes
19. The Other Side
20. Helter Skelter
21. Livin' on the Edge
22. Cryin'
23. Amazing
24. Deuces Are Wild
25. Crazy
26. Blind Man
27. I Don't Want to Miss a Thing
28. Jaded
29. Fly Away From Here
30. Girls of Summer

Re: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
Hmmm, that is a good song list. If there's one thing that keeps me interested in this game, it's that I always found Aerosmith songs fun to play in GH. I liked the songs and they were usually challenging without being over the top hard. It's time for GH to move beyond just slogging through a set list though, I hope there's some new feature in career mode to keep things fresh.Comment
