That's cool. when I first started doing expert, I couldn't get past Morello or Slash to save my life. So I skipped them and came back to do it again a couple weeks ago. It took me a few tries to get Morello, but I got Slash in like 30 seconds. I was amazed.

Rented this today and some 3 hours later I've gotten to the last song on expert. By no means am I all that great on expert, in the last 2 GHs I've always gotten stuck on the last tier and never beaten expert, but I flew through this one....Which I don't think is necessarily a bad thing because I don't always equate difficulty with fun in GH.

Has no one mentioned that HO/POs seem to be tightened up? Or maybe my guitar is dying, but I had to be a little more precise with HO/POs.

A decent rental if you aren't an aerosmith fan.

The HO/PO are like they were back in GH2 and in RB. I saw it was mentioned in an article before it came out that the HO/PO would be "less mushy".

I disagree. What fun is a game if you win all the time?

I need a challenge. Something to push me. That's fun.

Well we're talking about a music game. With music, the fun isn't always in the challenge, but also in enjoying a song in an interactive capacity. For some people, the Guitar Hero games have stopped being challenging long ago. Doesn't mean it isn't fun anymore.

For instance, the free Vesuvius song is pretty easy on Expert(drums), but it was a real blast to play.

I gave this a rent for the weekend. I'm going through in on expert and and I just got done with Love in an Elevator. The HO/PO's are definitely tighter than GH3, but still more forgiving than GH2 or RB. I think the timing window here for HO/PO's is the best of both worlds. Not automatic, but not impossible.

I definitely need a challenge too, that's why I play on expert, but I'm talking about some of the ridiculous over the top challenge from some songs where GH just added stuff to make the song hard. Most of the time I just want to kick back, turn up the volume, and enjoy 'playing' guitar.

Same. I'll never get sick of playing More Than a Feeling, Strutter, or When You Were Young. That's why I want to see some really fun first tier songs that are completely passable, if not 100% passable. I made songs that would be good for something like this, like Work by Jimmy Eat World.

Well I just beat the Joe Perry guitar battle on expert. From a challenge standpoint, it's nowhere near GH3, but it's a fun game still.

That's how I feel about it. I find the game more fun than GH3, but its too short and I wish there were some more challenging songs because you can run through this game really easily. At least its a good sign for GH:WT that the game is more fun than GH3.

I don't know, I think GH3 was probably more fun overall. There aren't a whole lot of songs I like on GHA. Even the majority of the Aerosmith is forgettable for me. I'm not that familiar with most of their older stuff though.

I mean it's fine, it just not worthy of a purchase for me. I'm just going to save that $60 and put it towards RockBand 2 or GHWT.

Played it the other day at a friend's house on the Wii. Game is fun, but IMO, not worth the $60 (or $50) price tag. I'll wait for this to get marked down to $30 and then pick it up.

Why is it so much harder on GH:A than RB? I 5-starred it on RB.

Because the verses past Verse 2 are made up of chords while they are easy single notes in RB.

I much rather like RB over the new GHs.
