But that is simply not true, and if you were to go back and read their reviews for exclusive 360 games, you would see that this isn't the case. Just recently they were down on Fable II more than others.

Halo 3 a 9.8 when it's more of the same from Halo 2? That's just one example. EDIT: It's not even the score they give the games, but the content held therein.

Immediately after the training sequence, Gears of War 2 gets down to business and lets you know that it's not messing around. The game works on a much larger scale than its predecessor, and an early vehicle sequence has you riding on a rig through waves of Locust troops and, as luck would have it, a handful of creatures that served as bosses in the first game. These bosses get absolutely ripped to shreds by the human forces. Big, imposing foes like the Corpser or the Brumak are practically treated as jokes right out of the gate, with more than one Brumak getting ripped apart by the turrets on your rig. This ends up feeling pretty awesome, as it lets you know in the game's early moments that you should expect to see bigger, more deadly stuff over the course of the game. And the rest of the game delivers on that unspoken promise.

As Marcus Fenix you'll be slamming into cover in Sera's cities and towns, underground caves, on board boats and more. There's a tonne of variety too, including some insanely cool on-rails sections and sweet rides. The final level is both a stunning sight to behold and what every Gears fan has wanted to do since the first game. If you thought you'd seen all the Gears series had to offer, think again - you ain't seen nothing yet. There are moments in Gears 2 that you'll want to replay immediately, make you grin from ear to ear and stare at your TV in disbelief.

Halo 3 got a 9.8 from Gametrailers. 18 perfect scores, including from such as EDGE, Eurogamer, and 1UP.

Yes, maybe you should try reading their reviews for a change, because your comment about every major exclusive being almost flawless in their eyes, is again, not true.

Yeah, it's weird how that gets such a pass on being Halo 2.5, graphically and in other areas, but other games get killed. Oh well, I know I'm in the minority on this one.

I agree with that. I said this many times, but I think Eurogamer has the best written reviews around. Arstechnica is great too, but their reviews take awhile before going up and they don't review every game.

Thanks for bringing me back to reality. I forgot it comes out at Midnight. 5 more weeks till I go back to work. It's gaming Heaven right now. Probably gonna make some trades tonight if it is a Midnight release. Peace!!!

Watched the Gametrailers review. It's really great to see all the variety in the environments and some color. The first environment in the game is pretty ugly in comparison to all the other ones they showed. It looks straight out of the original Gears. The music playing in background is awesome. Steve Jablonsky FTW.

So happy for DeVotchKa for getting their song in the trailer. Such nice people and they've busted their asses to get where they now are. In 2002 they were playing the coffee shop I worked at for $350, which was a great night for them at the time. Progress is a sumbitch. Wish I could still get into their shows, but they always remember me when I do manage to find a ticket.
