Yeah...I didn't really get the feel of any sort of strategy in the demo (Single Player) and the MP, while fun, was just everyone running around at random blowing crap up. I'm wondering/hoping that the maps in the full game allow for strategy, planning, using the stealth a bit, etc.

the full game will have those people on their own leaving the MP playground to those of us who want to compete. with 6 game modes and 20 maps, there is a lot to do.
As for stealth, do not expect slow paced anything in this game... it is raucous fun and stealth is used mostly to hide for a bit while you run/sneak up on people and smash them with a hammer or sticky them with a mine.Comment

Re: Red Faction Guerilla
Just started obviously but retail version is full of missions etc.. that you just cant run into and fire away. Again I just started but it is very fun. You have to take control of sectors by completing missions / destroying buildings. The higher the moral in the sectors the better stuff you can get. etc..
Kill civilians and morale drops so running in guns a blazin isn't a good idea.
Dont base purchase or not on the demo. I liked the demo but the retail version is different in regards to the fun factor.
make no mistake though. this isn't a plan for 15 minutes and advance type game. While you do have to be careful it's more of a guilt free destroy/kill FUN game.
Oh.. a side note: (not really a spoiler but didn't want to chance it)SpoilerJust because A building doesnt drop during an explosion doesn't mean you have to give it more damage. I walked into a building I blew up a couple times to collect scrap and when in there ( figured I was safe) the freaking thing started squeeking and ....collapse...while i was under it.Last edited by Skyboxer; 06-02-2009, 04:21 PM.Joshua:

Thanks for the input, glad there's more depth to the full game.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Red Faction Guerilla
some quick impressions, have only played multiplayer so far:
-the demo feels similar to the retail version, for those of you who were curious. Though, in the retail version the added packs, guns, modes and levels make it so much better.
-team anarchy is basically team slayer/team sharpshooter/team deathmatch. it's pretty fun. Capture the flag is a ton of fun, though so far the games I was in didn't feature much defense. the Demolition mode is a nice way to incorporate the destruction of the game into a multiplayer mode. The mode from the demo is a nice twist on a control points game, also very fun. Haven't delved into the other modes.
-matchmaking so far has worked out very well. Doesn't take long to find a game of whatever mode you're looking for.
-Played 10+ games so far and haven't encountered any lag, yet.
-the new guns and packs that weren't in the demo are pretty sweet. The thrust pack sends you straight up and can go through buildings, like a vertical rhino pack. The firepower pack gives you a nice boost to whatever weapon you're using. Proximity mines are always a favorite of mine. Then you have the singularity mines, which suck any nearby enemies into this force field and kill them, pretty cool but the range is a bit limited for obvious reasons.
So far happy with the multiplayer. I'm sure I'll delve into single player eventually but right now the appeal is the multiplayer.Lux y VeritasComment

Re: Red Faction Guerilla
Ok I've played a few different type missions now.
Those I've played so far included: Destro Building types and Rescue prisoner types.
There are also places where you may pass a building and it will have an icon on it that shows its a High Importance building that are keys to the EDF's pressence in the area. Destroy it and their presence is hampered. You can destrot any EDF building and hamper the EDF also.
You can bring up the map and the different missions are shown there. Looks like you can complete them in any order also. The only (so far) out of the norm stuff is occasionally the EDF will attack an area and all you have to do is hit right on the key pad and you will have the route to that area and you can assist defeating the attack.
Anyways it really is a go here do that type of game but man it's fun especially the demolision stuff. Sure it wont be for everyone and I can see where it may get tiresome for a few people but as long as it keeps being fun I'll like it.Joshua:
