Haven't played this much in the last few days, not because I don't like it, but because The Show has been taking up all my gaming time.

      Re: Red Faction Guerilla

Played a couple matchmaking games tonight, I can definitely see the fun the multiplayer. I just wish I didn't suck at it so much. But with some improvement on my part, I could definitely see myself spending a lot of time in the multiplayer.

Not really feeling the campaign so far, though. Maybe I just need to play it a little more, but I have both this game and inFamous rented and I prefer inFamous so far for single-player.

Red Faction: Guerrilla DLC Covers New Ground

Another victory for Martian guerillas today, as THQ announces three packs of downloadable content for Red Faction: Guerrilla, beginning with Demons of the Badlands, which takes players to an all-new section of the Martian landscape.

Of course the new areas included in August's Demons of the Badlands DLC are still a rather coppery color, but the action is guaranteed to be fresh. Demons is a destructive single-player story arc that takes the players outside of the boundaries set in the main game. Hopefully there's a great deal of content stuffed into the pack, as it will set you back 800 Microsoft Points or $9.99 when it hits on August 13th for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

No word yet on what the other two DLC packs will consist of, but I'm hoping that at least one is multiplayer focused, as multiplayer is where I felt the most fun in the game is to be had. Fingers crossed!

                    Play on casual cooler?

Interesting article, and kinda what I was mentioning earlier. I think I will try this, cause all the blowing stuff up is more my forte and I get minorly frustrated when I'm running a mission and dying, forcing a reload. Interesting how actual article writers are referring to this.

Multiplayer's completely separate and fun on its own...just noticed this in single player, I was dying and reloading a lot on some of the stuff...

I started on the higher difficulty, but when I realized that the game offered no reward for doing so, and that it was less fun, I bumped it down to casual as well.

Demons of the Badlands to introduce new environment, single-player mission arc August 13 for $10; two remaining updates expected by year's end.

While PC gamers patiently await Red Faction: Guerrilla's belated "summer" release, their console-owning counterparts may be enjoying a second helping of open-world destruction for the recently released Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of the game. THQ today announced a trio of downloadable content packs for Guerrilla, with the first set to launch on August 13.

They weren't kidding about that whole "red planet" nickname.
The debut pack, Demons of the Badlands, will feature a new single-player story arc that takes place in a new environment not covered by the original game's open world. A handful of screenshots suggest the first DLC add-on will heavily feature the game's Marauder faction.

Demons of the Badlands will sell for $9.99 on the PlayStation Network and 800 Microsoft points on Xbox Live. No date or price was specified for a PC release of the add-on. The two remaining packs are expected to arrive later this year, with THQ giving no indication as to their content or cost.

Red Faction: Guerrilla is set on a terraformed and colonized Mars that saw an uprising of miners in the first two games. The third entry in the series depicts the struggle between descendants of a Martian mining colony and the totalitarian Earth Defense Force looming over them. In addition to physics-based destruction, Red Faction: Guerrilla allows players to kill one another with a very large bird.

I'll have to wait until reviews of the DLC is out before I get excited. While I love what Volition has done with Saints Row 2 and Red Faction, their DLC has been lackluster and overpriced. The stuff they charged $10 for in Saints Row 2 was a joke.

I just can't do it. Despite getting my head kicked in a lot, My ego just won't let me go down to casual. I'll either beat it on normal or I won't beat it at all.

I won't feel cheated though if I don't beat it. I've gotten my money's worth. Most games these days are way too easy on normal. Its good(for me at least) to have a game that is actually a tough challenge on the default level.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I didn't view it as a pride thing. I still play CoD on Veteran, Guitar Hero on Expert, etc. So I didn't really think about it in a me lacking skills kind of way. I just wanted to have fun with it.
