Gameplay is not bad. It doesn't feel like any of the original SOCOM's in my opinion. Not that its a bad thing, just the familiarity isn't there at least for me.
Played for about 30-40 minutes and now it seems that the server is going to boot us out because the game has just locked up. Frustrating. I had the satchel with the bomb and was about to plant that sucker and the game is locked up.
The explosions are nice, the firefights are intense and the controls are not bad once you get the hang of them. Controls are really different from what I am used to so there is a learning curve.
Graphics like I said are similar to Resistance in my opinion. They aren't the best looking by any means, though the area in which you are fighting could have something to do with that.
I love the taunts, they are hiliarious. Love the chicken dance.
I also love how you can hide amongst the shadows so to speak and really catch people off guard. Also, sniper rifles are my best friend. I was picking guys off one by one. Gotta love the sniper.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
ok guys I was able to create a Operation sports SOCOM CLAN. I invited a few who i saw were in the beta. streamline i will add you as well when i can. I have not played the game yet because it seems to be freezing up on menu's as I get in. Oh well, It's a beta so it takes time for them to get it right. Can't wait to play.
I got the clan invite and am proud to say I am an OS clan member. I managed to accept it right before it froze up. Now I cant get back on without it freezing. I sent you a message Eton, but it froze up. Maybe later we can get into a game together.
I played one game 11 rounds of Respawn, 10 min rounds. I dont like respawn but it was the only room I could get in.
First impressions were good for me. I really had fun. Like countryboy said the controls are different than recent SOCOM games, so it takes some gettign used to, once i got the hang of it I was doing pretty good.
I didnt like the sprint at first, becasue you cant use the strafe (L stick left and right) when sprinting, but once i caught on it wasnt bad.
I love how it only takes a couple shots to get a kill, no more lighting a guy up from behind only to have him turn around and kill you (SOCOM 3 and CA)
one thing I dont like and dont know if I can get used to it is the lean with the sixaxis. For me it was very hard to do and wasnt very responsive. You can change the sensativity so that might help. But i much prefer the D-pad leaning from SOCOM past.
and I also didnt notice much lag like others have, but I have only played one game.
But I have found this game is impressing me. The games I got into the teamwork and strategy is there like the old times in socom games. The hit detection is good and it doesn't take much to kill a guy.
Graphics aren't great but a major step up from the old versions, and for me I really don't care as its gameplay that sucks me into socom.
Also the game modes were working well and the Crossroads is cool, its not the same, got some new parts but playing on it I still can get down on that map and have found some good times on it, well at least without the .50 cal's being in.
I cant get on to play. Right after I hit "ok" to the server news or whatever, the screen goes black and it freezes. I can hear the music but it wont continue. I cant even press the "PS" button to quit. I didnt have this problem the first time I played. any one have any advice? thanks.
It takes a while to load the game from the lobby, but once i get in the game i've been playing with basically no problems, a little lag here and there .....
It feels alot more like socom 2 rather than 3 or higher (this is a good thing).
it takes like 5-10mins to load the game once u pick which one u want to be in. And then there lots of lag especially when u get close to the firefights
Kenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....
Kenny: Everyone wins?!?!
