Looks like there is a date now.

We are happy to announce that the SOCOM: Confrontation 1.20 Update will be released on Wednesday, October 29th, at 1200 GMT/UTC (8am EDT, 5am PDT, 1pm BST, 9pm JST).

some quick Q's:

1) is this game multiplayer only?
2) split screen multiplayer? offline? online?
3) is it better than COD4 online?
4) is a headset needed? and is it only the bluetooth one?
5) is sixaxis needed for this game?

1) yes
2) No
3) Very different games
4)Yes, you have to communicate in socom, comes with a bluetooth headset.
5) Yes to lean when shooting and to throw genades.

was playing with some newbs last night who did nothing but complain because they kept getting killed. They were COD4 disciples. They were doing the COD4 running and gunning and just shooting at the persons body and kept complaining how they pumped so many bullets into the guy and the other guys were killing them with 1-2 shots.

Is this your first installment of Socom? That is how all the other Socom's were, just run and gun. "Circle dance" two people would go around in a circle till one was dead quite funny. Zipper must have changed it quite a bit since ps2 days.

Lol I personally wouldn't mind if that wasn't patched. It adds another element of uniqueness to the game.
