It really depends what system you on. On PC, the mods like on COD4 the Tacticle realism Mod. Made so many things more realistic. No jumping out of 2 story windows, no jump shooting, firing from hip had much much less chance to hit, If shot you would bleed out until you used medical attention to fix the issue.

As long as people try and play the game on consoles they will never get the true realism that is offered on the PC.

Like ARMA or Operation Flash point is the king on PC for realistic Military sim. PLUS ARMA has Track IR support. Which helps out greatly. I use it in ARMA and in my Flight sim like IL-2 and I could never go back with out it.

100% agree. I get so annoyed by the stupid perks in COD. If they would take Last Stand or Martyrdom away I'd be happy. I am so annoyed when I unload half a clip into someone and they don't die because they have a stupid perk that allows them to be Hulk.

At least in SOCOM realistic stuff happens, and people die when I shoot them.

GSW, IMO SOCOM is not better than COD5. It's hard to compare them, but COD5 just offers so much more. This is coming from a guy who normally loves 3rd person shooters.

been a while and back playing. Forgot something: How do I throw a grenade far without using the aiming arrow? I know there was a way to just chunk it on the fly.

Have your controller tilted up (so the R1, R2, L1, L2 face ceiling) and press R1 hard for a second and you will chuck it far, its not perfect but it normally works just fine.

what is everyone's favorite Mercenary weapon ? Right now I am using the 552 with silencer and scope. Really wish we had more to choose from. Are they adding any weapons in the next update?

For Mercs I use the 552 with silencer and front grip at night, during the day front grip and medium scope. I don't use a silencer on day maps and have found a great increase in productivity with loud guns, they are much more powerful.

And just my tidbit, for commandoes I use the M4A1 the same was as my 552.

you do better with loud guns? I seem to do worse as the noise seems to give my cover away. I do like the big M60, and it's LOUD !

Much better actually, I find the power increase greatly outweighs the loss of stealth. It normally isn't that hard to find someone with a silencer and when it takes nearly double the hits to drop someone because of your quiet gun I just don't find the return.

This is just what i've found though, I don't know if i'm better or worse than you guys but all I can do is share what works for me.

Gotta disagree there. The silencer is a must IMO. Not sure which game you're playing, but it's only easy to find someone with a silencer when you're with 10 yards of them. I kill people with 3 shots easy using the suppressor. I've even sniped across the map and taken people out with 1 shot. You might as well be on their radar the whole game without a suppressor.

I guess to each is own, my clan is unbeaten on GB and the majority of us use Loud guns, at night its a little different. I can see where people find silenced guns better but from playing extensively and playing versus a lot more than public players i'm finding that the silencer is overused and overrated IMO. But again it is everyones opinion and i'm sure my 3-1 Kill to Death Ratio means nothing on one name and my 2-1 on my other one is irrelevant but I find much great effectiveness especially at range with my loud weapons.
