Delay confirmed

In a post made to Socom.com, Seth Luisi, SCEA Director of Development, mentioned just how hard it was to make the decision to push the game back an extra month. "Unfortunately, even working late into the nights and every weekend, we've had to re-evaluate our schedule. Our top priority is delivering the best SOCOM online experience possible," Luisi Said. "Tough decisions had to be made and we've decided to push back the release date to October 14th, 2008. We just had to face the facts and do what is best for the title. Rather than sacrifice features, quality and stability, we had to do the right thing and re-adjust our schedule."

This schedule change will delay the release of the game from its original date of September 16th, 2008. Luisi did close his post with an additional statement to SOCOM fans: "We absolutely feel that we need to deliver the best SOCOM online experience possible; you deserve no less. Coffee and pizza donations are welcome."

yeah I'm a bit upset but if that month helps with development than so be it. Zipper didn't take the extra time for SOCOM 3 and Combined Assult. The only thing now is it comes out the same day as Saints Row 2. That may be a expensive week.

I'm happy that they are pushing it back so that they can make it better. As long as this doesn't get pushed back into 09 I'm ok with a little delay.

I'll join the OS clan unless my old clan from socom 2 gets back together. I'm ready to start some 8v8 clan wars on crossroads.

Anyone still playing combined assault? I just downloaded the free maps that have been out for a couple months (crossroads, frostfire...) and am getting the itch big time! If anyone is still playing or want s to play let me know I will get on and play. My name is "Mungo" on Combined Assault.

I started up 3 a few months ago after I heared that the maps came out. I played a little but still can't get into 3.

A lot of the SOCOM community did not like 3 and Combines Assult. They felt the maps were too big and the inclusion of vehicles ruined the gameplay. It seems Slant Six has learned from Zippers mistake and has gone back to Socom 2 with regards to Confrontation. October 14 seems so far away. I got the Qore thing so I know I will be in the beta.

Crossroads doesn't really look the same in Confrontation I don't think. Looks a bit bigger

The center part of the map will stay basically the same but they are adding a lot more on to it. So I probably won't be able to run through it with my eyes closed the first time.

very happy for this. I got the Qore episode so I will be in on Sept. 8. I am not ordering it from Gamestop because I got a credit at FYE that I want to use. If anyone who does order it at Gamestop could be nice enough to give me a code I would appreciate it. Can't wait to play.

Sure seems as if this game isn't getting the attention it should. I am getting anxious about the release of this one and the beta is just a few weeks away!
