this is my first ever SoCom game, and right now I have no idea what I am doing. I am getting killed 3 times for every 1 kill I get. It's hard when you don't know the maps.

Same here bro. Just go in the non-ranked rooms where you have respawns and get used to everything. The non-ranked games are usually on the bottom of the list.

Heelfan... as far as joining a friends room, I haven't figured out how to go directly into it but when I joined that game you were in I had to go into the server and then join the game from within that. Not sure if there's an easier way.

Try to stay alive more instead of worrying about killing...u cant kill if ur dead.

Good advice, I've just been going in non-ranked rooms just trying to get the feel of the maps/game. Trying different things. A few more days and then I think I might be ready for some ranked games. Peace!!!!

The link I posted a few replies up has some great tips for noobs. There is a user guide that helps.

I actually learned more playing ranked rooms by watching how the vets play (after I died right away). some of these people play non stop and are really good.

Also I don't know if this has been mentioned but when your walking and your gun raises it means an enemy is nearby. Never paid attention to this before but it can be helpful.

Very helpful. ALso it won't work if you are sprinting.

Yup, SOCOM vets call this "HOT". That means a enemy is close to you.

how do you join someone who is playing on your friends list ? Do you have to just do it manually or can you automatically go there???

You just have to do it manually or the person in the room can invite you only between matches.

Yikes, I thought everyone had heard about that, its been in every SOCOM game. Also, more specific, if an enemy is within 50meters your gun will go hot, it doesn't matter what direction its just a 50meter radius that the enemy could be, but remember if your gun is hot so is theres :wink:

yeah, when my gun goes hot I either stop and wait or move really slow and careful.

Yeah I usually sprint and stop to see if it raises before sprinting again.

Man, had a great time playing tonight with a bunch of newer players. 16 vs 16 no lag whatsoever. Been away from playing this for a while and have to get adjusted to the controls again and staying away from ranked games has worked wonders from me. I never see anyone from OS playing???

i havnt been on in a few days I have been sucked back into the MLB The Show. Ill be back soon though.
