I've had no interest in the GTA series, but this trailer has me interested.

I like the NY setting and the graphics look nice. Rockstar said everything in the trailer is from in-game graphics.

The main character looks like he's Russian. I like his lines "Life is complicated, I've killed people, smuggled people, sold people, perhaps here things will be different."

Yeah, although Saints Row did a pretty good job at some of the billboard signs, resteraunt names, etc. When I get GTA IV, I'll spend alot of time just driving around, checking out the billboard signs.

The great thing about GTA is they always are moving forward. Granted, a lot of people like the themes of 3 and VC better than SA, but there's nobody who can say that the scope, options, and mechanics of the games didn't get better. Especially after the crap that was the GTA series on the ps1 and Dreamcast.

Because this is the first GTA game for current gen consoles and it's coming from Rockstar, a small part of me thought they might really go outside the box in terms of the storyline.

An interesting storyline (and extremely controversial) could have been an American that some how gets recruited by a terrorist group. And of course the goal of the game is to kill Americans (with the big target being the US President) on American soil.

edit: but i was thinking about some government scandal storyline they can do if they wanted to do something different.

Game look good. Can't wait to play. I wonder if all the different boroughs will be in the game? How about the gov hires this immigrant to infiltrate a terror cell and him having decide to join the cell and destroy the country or help the country.
