I'll be checking the swap meets starting next Wednesday. I doubt there's going to be success at any retailers getting it early. You gotta go to the small video game boutiques or swap meets. I was able to get Halo 3 like 8 or 9 days early, and NBA 2K8 a week early from a swap meet.

Check that place in Long Beach (Game Play?).

I bet they'll have it early, and if they do let me know so I can pick it up.

I wouldnt be surprised if swap meets have them early...Ex if you find it, get at me.

In my experiences flea markets/swap meets/mom and pops are the only places I've ever had success. Fortunately I've had recent scores too.. the only games I own I've gotten at least a week early.. Halo 3, NCAA Football 2008, and NBA 2K8.. swap meet, mom and pops, and swap meet in that order.

DT, I live out here in Long Beach man, I only go to the swap meet right by me.. pretty far from where you're at LOL. But if I do I will.

Yeah DTX...it'd probably be about a 3 hour drive one way to Long Beach for you.

GTA is probably worth it though.

Yup, that's the only mom and pops place I know of around here.. so I'll be checking on Wednesday.. although they actually take pre-orders.. and I didn't get one because it's really random with them, they honestly have no idea when their shipment will come through. They have a mother store in L.A. where the bulk of their shipments go before Long Beach.. so I may consider trying them too.

LMAO, I have no idea if they're up there. Basically it looks like a "ghetto" mall. They can either be indoors or outdoors, where people sell imitation purses/wallets/colognes etc. You can usually bargain with the sellers on prices. Basically you get the "nothing here looks legit" vibe.

Hey, im willing to take a 2 hour drive up there for GTA if its on the weekend...unless one of you dont mind picking me up a copy and ill pay through paypal. Swap meets down here are pretty much useless, and mom & pop shops are no where to be found.

LMAO, I have no idea if they're up there. Basically it looks like a "ghetto" mall. They can either be indoors or outdoors, where people sell imitation purses/wallets/colognes etc. You can usually bargain with the sellers on prices. Basically you get the "nothing here looks legit" vibe.

damn...i love that vibe, especially if it's followed by the "i just did something illegal, but it's not that big of a deal and I'll never get caught" thrill.

As far as big chains go, If any of you have a Sears nearby, I would check there starting on Thursday or Friday. They are notorious for breaking street dates. I was able to get both NCAA Football 08 and Gears of War a few days before release date from them.

that would be so much better than getting it on monday/tuesday where most of the work week is still ahead...friday would be awesome. I would just let my roomate, and maybe my gf know that i will not move from the living room all weekend which will be non-negotiable, except maybe for a beer run

I don't know about that. I work at a Sears out where I live and they're very tight about selling a game before release date.

I've even tried bargaining with the managers,even offered them extra cash and told them I would pay the fine for THEM and they still wouldn't do it LOL.

Hell, sometimes we don't even get the games on time. I remember we didn't get COD4 til Mid-January.

Oh and a little bit more info came out via GTAgaming. It's nothing we don't already know except for the little tidbit that there are at least 20 missions devoted to control tutorial. (that's a good thing for a guy like me)
