I am absolutely buying the Lost And Damned the minute it is released. I have exactly 1600 points in my account at the moment especially for that purpose.

This DLC is unlike anything ever seen on a console before...I think the price is fair considering what we get.
I am as well...I loved GTA 4 and I needed a reason to play some more since I've pretty much done most of the stuff required of you (except for pigeon huntin which isnt my cup of tea).Comment

Pretty much the same for me...I tried playing through the story both times and ended up being extremely frustrated on the long missions. Nothing beats spending tons of money to ammo and gear up, only to die...over, and over, and over again.
What's crazy is I'm like five to ten missions from the end and really can't motivate myself to finish it up.Comment

Just a heads up I just bought the DLC on amazon and got a free 3 month xbox live card. Kinda worth it if you think about it.

I'm getting very excited for this DLC. Loved GTA4, this will only bring me back.
Personally, I didn't find GTA4 frustrating or very difficult at all, just the one mission when you are chasing a guy on a speed bike, that one annoyed me. The others, eh, none took me more than 2 tries to beat at max. I just wish I would have realized there was a 30 hour achievement (I know, how could I of all people not realize that. LOL), as I spent like 10 hours just messing around, and beat it at the 31 hour mark. LOLComment

I can't wait for this DLC and will d/l it asap Tuesday since I'm off that day.
I love GTA4 and didn't find it frustrating or difficult and did complete it. Sure, some missions later on were annoying but every game has their annoying bits.
Hmm, I'd guess I have easily put in over 100 hours combined into it from both single and multi player but I haven't played it in months so it will be nice to hit it again.Comment

Normally I don't finish games (infact, I've beaten very few...maybe a few), but when I got back to play it I finished it and didn't really find it super difficult. I had to re-try a few of them and a bit annoying, but nothing where I simply couldn't move on or anything.
TLAD is definitely going to be a day one buy for me. (already got the points added to my account, finally found a use for my christmas gamestop gift card)Comment

IGN: The Lost & Damned seems far more robust than the typical DLC. What was the approach going into the creation of L&D?
Leslie Benzies: We don't really pay too much attention to what other people do, but we have always felt that, having built a massive, complex living game world, to only have one story flow through it felt kind of limiting. As we were developing GTA IV, we loved Niko and his story, but wanted to figure out a way to fit other stories in Liberty City, and that as something downloaded would be the perfect format for that.
As with all our projects, we're constantly trying to push ourselves, competing internally to offer something genuinely new and exciting. We think the Lost and Damned does a very good job of that at least, as no one has ever offered a fully self-contained downloadable episode like this before, or treated a game world in quite this way. It's huge, it's subtly intertwined with the main game without feeling tacked on, and it changes every aspect of your experience inside Liberty City.
You have the entirety of Liberty City open to you from the very beginning, full of new vehicles, new missions and a whole new story and point of view. The changes range from huge shifts in storyline and gameplay to more subtle things like physics, graphics and animation tweaks, to all of the background media that make GTA what it is, and some really cool new multiplayer modes. Plus, as presumably, the player will know the city when the game starts, so does Johnny--so you start right in the middle of someone's life, in the place they live, rather than turning up new with Niko.IGN: How does The Lost and Damned principally differ from GTA IV?
Leslie Benzies: Fundamentally with GTA the goal is to blend gameplay mechanics and setting/storyline in a way that one informs the other to make something interesting and as cohesive as we can manage. Niko's story was that of an immigrant newcomer to a massive and overwhelming city, and so we spent a fair amount of time discovering that city with the player, whether it be through dating girlfriends or running small-time extortion jobs for a mobster like Vlad. At the same time; he's a loner.
The Lost and Damned is all about gangs--what it means to be a gang, what it feels like to roll in a gang, to fight for people, and to see if the principles and values of the gang really hold true when trouble looms. So, from a gameplay perspective, we really tried to build out the feelings and mechanics of being in a biker gang. And that feels very different from the experience of playing as Niko.IGN: What can you tell us about the new mini-games being added?
Leslie Benzies: We wanted stuff that would you feel like you were in a gang. All the new mini-games are designed to make sense from Johnny's point of view, so activities like arm wrestling and the card games are something you would imagine taking place inside a biker clubhouse, while there's some really cool new action based around just cruising in the gang.IGN: Niko was a guy looking for companionship in a strange new city. Johnny comes with a bunch of longtime friends. How does this change the "phone a friend" elements from GTA IV?
Leslie Benzies: Johnny has lived in Liberty City for a long time so he already has an established circle of friends, most of whom are in The Lost. So, for example, you'll be able to call them up to try out some of the new bike races after only a few missions--you won't have to earn friendships in the same way Niko did. In another example, although Johnny's bike is one of a kind, you can call Clay at any time for a replacement if you trash it--it just won't be exactly the same. If you need weapons, you can call Terry and have him deliver weapons to the clubhouse or wherever you happen to be at the time.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment
