It says GTA4 is region locked. That doesn't make any sense... So living in ND I can expect to get the game later or not for a while? I don't know what to make of this.
I think regions are based on the continents, North America, Europe ect.

So someone in Europe can't play a game that was made for North America. Not someone who lives in New York can't play a game that was bought in Texas.

Go pick up the new OXM fellas. They have a 5-6 page spread on the game and it all sounds great. Next month's issue is about multiplayer.

I'm sure Flawless will be along in the next day or two to post the recap like he normally does.

All the missions are handled through the cell phone. If you want to steal an ambulance, cop car, etc, you can dial 911 and report a crime and a few mins later, the authorities will show up...the ice cream truck company is named Cherry Popper...the targeting system is part Saints Row, part GTA...You can squeeze the left trigger halfway for free aim or all the way for typical GTA lock on system. That's all I have off the top of my head.

the one where you had to stop berkeley's (sp?) delivery boys? I guess you just have to get used to the controls and knock out the 3 or 4 that are close before the two that are across town. Definitely annoying mission.

The controllers default drivers are horrible, if you set the game to joypad it maps the buttons funny and doesn't take use of all of them. I use a program called Xpadder and mapped out the keyboard to the controller's buttons. After that its pretty good, although theres the occasional thing that shared a button on the consoles but has to be mapped separately in the PC version and stuff like aiming with the right stick is pretty shot because you're mapping an analog stick to keys. whenever theres a mission where you need to do the shooting while someones driving or you need to shoot using free aim i switched the camera controls to the mouse. conversely you could leave the setup at 'keyboard and mouse" and then map the right stick to the mouse, that might be better but I got used to playing it the way i did.

That mission doesn't stop the continuation of the story you can skip it and move on unless the pc version is different.

Re: Let's talk about... Grand Theft Auto 4

A little info from an EGM preview and interview with Rockstar Games founder, Sam Houser.

Word around Rockstar is that GTA IV hero Niko Bellic was inspired by a favorite driver in the company's car service.

                                Multiplayer

"Our multiplayer experiences definitely have a different vibe. They're a lot of fun, have a lot of character. It's got a lot of standard modes, but it's also got some modes we've not really done before."

                                Episodes

"I'm very excited about the episodes. I think they're going to work beautifully well, particularly if you played the single-player experience - how they connect."

GTA IV world map was going to be even bigger than San Andreas, but the focus became making the whole experience larger, rather than just the world's size and feature list.

"How are we going to increase the resolution of the experience?"

"How could we increase the gravity of everything, the weight of every action, the intensity of everything, if we just go further and further out? We wanted every single thing that you do, whether it's walking down the street, going to into a pawn shop, using guns, driving a car or a bike or boat or a helicopter or whatever - just general basic interaction - to feel re-engineered and re-engaged so it feels new for people"
